Detailed Reviews
As a person with a history of enjoying travel where I plan accommodation and activities by myself (e.g. museums, outings, city walks or what have you), visiting Sunwing Arguineguin was a very different, and to me, new, experience. I was very impressed by the well run operations of this hotel, and by the ability of keeping things clean and fresh, especially when having a lot of families with younger children continuously visit (and grabbing food, drinks and so on). This in combination of space, a clear fresh view of the sea and pools and a lot of sunbeds resulted in never feeling too crammed or busy/chaotic.
If you want to relax in terms of not having to plan for food, activities, where to stay, what to entertain your kids with, practical things like cleaning etc, this is a great option, since it gives you time to talk, enjoy the sun, walks, doing some workout and be with your family. If this is what you are looking for, and accept that it is a packaged experience (lollo/bernie etc), Arguineguin Seafront is a place I highly recommend.

Amazing hotel for families!
Everything is great in this hotel. It is smoke free hotel and we really liked that. You can enjoy your balcony without smoke from other balconies.
We had all inclusive. Food was good, almist great. Snacks were good, only ice creams were out if stock sometimes. Plenty of varieties to eat, both to kids and adults. They have orange juice maker so you can have fresh orange Juice at breakfast as much as you like!
Family hotel so no drunken people around even when drinks are free. We had only alcohol free drinks and they were great, they use fresh mint and everything is tasty.
Evening shows were ok. Lollo and Bernie ok and international kids club but almost everything is still in swedish.
Swimming pools are heated and open from the early morning. Life guard was making his job well.
Room was spotless, good water pressure and always hot water available. Bed was great and they have real blanket and duvet covers. Room is spacious enough.
There is not a proper beach. But if you take a look on your left when at hotel, and walk about 300 m you find nice beach. It is very suitable for small children because it is free of waves, sandy bottom and we didn't see anything sharp in the water. Water is also really shallow. This beach is not connected fully to the sea, it is some kind of tide pool. Amazing with kids!!
All in all we will be going back! The staff is great, location is great. There is a little shop and it was also good.

We travelled here with family in April and stayed in the Lollo and Bernie suit. Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with cava at the reception and snacks and drinks in the room (as this was included in the room cost). The room was nice and fresh and the balcony with sea view huge.
The location of the hotel is decent, not too far from Arguineguin but there were not many restaurants/cafés in the immediate vicinity. However, good walking paths that simplified to get around. Also the buses to Las Palmas and other places to visit went just behind the hotel. If you are interested in Shopping, take bus/taxi to Mogan Mall in Puerto Rico which is the nearest major shopping center, takes about 15-20 minutes.
Unfortunately, we noticed a few days in that we had a certain problem with ants in the kitchen. We bought bread from the hotel minimarket in the evening that we put in the kitchen cupboard and woke up the morning after to the bag was full of ants. After this we kept all the food in the fridge. This should be addressed by a hotel with this classification.
We had only a positive experience of the staff at the hotel, both in the reception as well as in the minimarket and Miguels Kitchen. Super good with the option to order Take Away food from there too. We went here without All Inclusive as we usually want to explore local eateries but the selection in Arguineguin was perhaps not very impressive though OK for a week stay. Can recommend to try Los Pescaitos nearby for generous portions and good fish/meat.

+1
This hotel is just perfect! We arrived late at night and had plates for cheeses, meat and breads in our room which was very welcomed after a long day travelling. The food at this hotel is lovely, always lots of variety and choice. We travelled as a family of 4- two children aged 13 and 9. They throughly enjoyed the pools. The staff were fantastic with them, always friendly and chatty and welcomed both there attempts at speaking spanish to them. You can always get a sunbed no matter what time of the day, people were respectful and didn’t go down at 6am to put towels down! Would definitely recommend if you want a holiday to just chill out and enjoy some family time. Lovely walks into Anfi and arguinigan where you can get the water taxis to explore neighbouring towns. The buses are frequent and bus drivers very helpful ❤️ all in all a fabulous family holiday and will definitely be returning to this hotel again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Clean, modern and fresh hotel with many opportunities to get active during the holiday. Spa, gym, water aerobics in the pool and guided activities for the smaller kids which seemed popular (although my kids are too big for that). The hotel restaurant had a large selection of varied buffets and there was always fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as many drink options of both wine/beer and soft drinks. The hotel room had a very well-functioning AC so we could all sleep well without having to sweat at night. Of course it cost a penny to book a week in July but I thought we got a lot for the money.

This hotel swallows an enormous amount of people, which doesn't show as much as it could. The public areas are cleaned and tidied up constantly, but a lot of people make noise...a lot. If you are looking for a holiday where you sit and look out over the sea and hear the sound of the waves, this is not the place for it. Everyone bathes, jumps in the pool, eats breakfast at the same time, laughs, screams and the music plays a lot and often. But it's quiet at 10pm and the rooms are quiet and nice.
A strong tip is to get out of the hotel and to the nearby beach "to the right" of the hotel along the beach "promenade". Over a parking lot and a 7-minute walk, you reach a wild and lovely beach with lovely waves. If you can walk another 10 minutes, you will reach the famous Playa Anfi Del Mar. Fantastic water, but no fun waves - instead pedal boats and other fun.
I won't go here again, but for a week's holiday with happy children and a fairly high tolerance for noise and noise, it's a nice experience with guaranteed sun and nice swimming. If you can afford to skip All Inclusive and go out to eat in nearby Arguineguin in the evenings, it can only increase your time off.

A great hotel that offers everything you need. But be aware that this is a family hotel with all that this means. This means that the hotel is best suited for families with children.
We travelled without children, and it was a bit messy like this. But we knew what we were going to and have nothing to complain about like this. Lots of sunbeds available, ergo no sunbeds-war needed. Gym superb, laundry room ok and with app solution for payment. Clean and nicely in the rooms and the hotel in general, and a bunch of activities especially for children. Nice show in the evenings too.
Remarkable can be rigid prices in the restaurant as well as in the supermarket. A ice cream cost 5 Euro... for example. Sunscreen also very expensive, more expensive than in Norway.
For those who do not have full board (all inclusive) it should also be noted that the location of the hotel at Arguineguin is not suitable for restaurant visits if travelling in the summer. This is off-season on Gran Canaria, where most restaurants are actually closed. We were taken a little on the bed by this, where the whole Arguineguin small town actually reminded of an abandoned place without neither local people nor tourists. Therefore we ended up eating a portion at the hotel barbecue restaurant which also offered take-out to the room, or we took the bus to Puerto Rico (10 min) where the off-season concept obviously does not exist... Good luck!
Arguineguin was a huge disappointment for us. But we knew that this is not a tourist town in this way, but that it should be so dead and "abandoned" in July we had no idea about. We'll probably never go back there.

It is always nice to stay in a place where staff appears friendly and helpful. Thank you for making our stay pleasant. A special shout to Antonio at the bar - love your energy!
Property is well kept and constantly cleaned. Room was nice (Royal Family Suite), as it was shown on the website. Everything flowed nicely and there were no long lines ever and there was always availability to dine outdoors (a big plus for us). Pool temperature was warm and sunbeds were always available.
Food was okay with cruise line types of taps for wine and beer. Since we deal with some significant food allergies, we had been hopeful of the advertised nutrinionist on staff. However, the experience was no differenf from a regular restaurant. Also, if you put mayo on things, you just added multiple allergens and they were not noted on the cards. Coctails were all generic brands and just tossed together.
The place catered well for kids with constant activities and Lollo & Bernie visits. I would not recommend for teenagers for a lack of things to do. However, gym and yoga class were appreciated.

The hotel has a convenient location, with a short distance to both the main road and to the center of Arguinegin. The standard of the room was ok, large shower (double) and neat size on the balcony. There is a small kitchen in the room, and here the dishwasher is arranged when cleaning the room.
On the negative side there was no cleaning of the room every day, two days where it was not washed (or given clean towels). A little silly that it doesn't inform about which days, or is delivered some clean towels, at least.
The chairs on the balcony are not so comfortable, it is recommended to use extradyne as a pillow here!
Breakfast had good selection, but a lot of people and pigeons(!) inside the buffet. It was not filled up so often on the juicer machines, some of these only gave water several days in a row.
There are water machines several places in the hotel, so you can get cold, fresh water for the bottles.
There was always enough sunbeds and a large swimming pool. A little stupid that the 650 square meter pool only had a depth between 1,40 - 2,20 m, since this is a hotel with a lot of children...

We’re just home from a great week. This was our first time going to Gran Canaria in January, and staying at this particular resort and neither disappointed.
We’ve stayed previously at the Sunwing in Cala Bona (no longer Sunwing), OBC in Playa del Cura, OBC in Cyprus, and OBC in Crete so we were well versed on what to kind of expect. And having discussed we feel that this Sunwing and the OBC in Cyprus that have come out on top for us, and ones we’d stay at again.
Here’s what we found:
The resort here is 30 mins from the airport (never doing that 2hrs transfer again - I’m looking at you OBC Crete!).
The cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel was top notch.
Whilst the hotel was also fully booked, it didn’t feel crowded. It was always possible to find a lounger or get a table for meals. It was January so a lot of people wanted to sit indoors for breakfast when it was chillier, and we only found that not possible one morning.
The food, whilst still all inclusive quality, had a wide choice every mealtime so something for most tastes.
We had room 615, which was a Big Family room. Was very spacious, gave us plenty of room and a great view of the sea and pool. I’d read reviews mentioning the road noise from the bedrooms, and honestly the only time you noticed it was weekdays in the mornings and it was like a low hum as the sound dampening works very well. Obviously, if you sleep with the window open, it’d be a different story.
The resort has a lot of fee activities. My kids are 7 and 10. We used the mini land most days it was open in the mornings, the table tennis tables (one inside and another outside by the bar) and were popular with our two, the bonus of the free pool table inside (there’s a paid one by the pool too) was a real bonus, although the cloth had seen better days.
We walked along the path by the hotel into Arguineguin for the Tuesday market, among other things, and then another day for the man made beach. This was lovely and actually made me realize that there just was no traffic noise whatsoever along the resort front.
For anyone thinking of hiring a car, parking through the tunnel and up the hill. Parking on the day we arrived (Saturday) was tricky as it seems a lot of campervans arrive Friday night and stay the whole weekend, so we ended up parking closer to a neighboring report up that hill, but the rest of the week we got to park closer to the hotel as it got less busy again.
Overall a fabulous week, and I’m missing the weather and the fact I need to get up and make breakfast for the family.
