We were at Camping for the first time, a friend recommended it to us and it was really one of the best decisions for us. We stayed in a mobile home from which we had a beautiful view of Calella beach. Camp would be the latest but we actually liked it. Incredibly clean and nice smell all over Camp. Animations for children are great, the pool is just enough for refreshment, Camp is close to everything (shops, restaurants, beaches). All staff friendly and always available. So it all got under our skin that we will definitely be back next year. This time we take our friends with us so we can share this great experience with them. Thanks again, see you! 💙

Just 50 mins drive from Barcelona...perfect place to escape. Our glamping tent was upgraded and had heavenly view over the sea.
Managed to burst a tyre and Richard and Juan very kindly offered to change it. Reception and bar staff were really helpful and friendly. Will be back with the dogs next time...thank you

Wow, where do I start with this beautiful experience.
One of the best camping sites I’ve ever been, Spain has a lot to offer and camp el far is one of many treasures around.
The crew and staff are SO friendly and amazingly helpful, they will go out of there way to give you a fantastic experience and meet all your needs.
The grounds are so beautiful, the e tore site sits on a beautiful hill right in the city center, 10 min walk from calella train station, 5 min walk to the beach, restaurants, and bars.
When you book your trip,
1-very affordable for solo, friends, couples, or families.
2-Fantastic location
3-private pool
4-Beach activities are included in the price, including 20 min free kayak ride in the sea
5-Parking
6-on site WiFi
7-On site restaurant, and bar.
So far so good right 😎!
Well there a lot more this place has to offer.
I loved it here and I will be back very soon.

For you backpackers, travelers, and everything in between, camping ⛺️ is another experience here at el far.

Thank you

Because it was camping, we stayed in trailers and tents so it was not as comfortable as a hotel room, but the camp grounds were really nice for the money we paid. Callela was gorgeous. I would recommend it to everyone and its only half an hour from Barcelona. The camping grounds over look the beach which is gorgeous.

We stayed in a bungalow and loved the location. The bungalow was small, but was well equipped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'd stay there again.
This location is especially recommended for IRONMAN competitors, as the bike course runs just in front of the camping gate.

There are three things you have to cope with if you want to stay at Camping El Far which nestles on a hillside on the outskirts of Calella. The three things are ants, teenagers and noise (from teenagers and road close).
I unfortunately totally agree with the negative reviews of this camping. This campground is NOT suitable for families with small children, but certainly perfect for families with teenagers who want to hang out with German, French or Spanish teenagers. We were there in July and management claims there are lots of families with children in August. There wasn´t any late July.

The whole area is dominated by young people. They absorb the relatively small pool, they hang out and listen to music between tents, huts, etc. (even at night) and they go to and from the city through the campingarea without regard to others. It destroyed so much our holiday, that we did not know that the campground has a tradition of holding camp for German youth, which meant that a large area at the back and high up in the square were reserved for 200 young people.

We were moved to a cottage (Cubana) from a tent (Trigano) when I complained of the noise and the 100's of ants that invaded our tent. It should be noted that rental tents stands at 50 cm distance and therefore your hear a lot to eachother. On the whole face all homes very close to the square whether tents or huts.
The staff is very friendly, but the rules that exist at the site, are not enforced. There must be quiet between 24-7 and there must not be thrown balls in the pool. There are music festivals (very loud!) from the restaurant to midnight Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We were up for two nights to protest over the noise and one night we were awakened by a knock on our door. Young people who had gone wrong :-(

The various children's workshops mentioned on El Fars website, we saw nothing to, so it is perhaps only in August they are held. Neither clown shows or some of the other shows that are mentioned. On the whole there was little attention to children and there were very few of them (families with children was probably fled).

If there had not been such a great beach close by, our vacation had been hell and I'm really annoyed that we chose the wrong camp to a 7 and 10 year old. I personally did not sleep the seven nights, we unfortunately had prebooked from home and do not think Camping El Fars website signals enough that there it is a teenage focused campground.

Moreover, their prices on web a wrong (they mention they forgot to update their prices to 2015 prices, so the prices for accommodation you can not count on).

We stayed here for 9 nights at the beginning of August 2014. Well that is telling a little lie as we were moved to a nearby apartment upon arrival as they had no bungalow for us to stay in. But we're not complaining as the apartment was just first class, huge and with the most magnificent view of the Med! So even though we were suspicious of being moved it worked out very well. This is why we have marked the camp site 4 out 5 instead of 5 as we can't review the on site accommodation. But overall we couldn't fault the site. The Manager, Sonya, was first class. Explained why we needed to move when we got there, gave us the option to try it for a night first, drove us over to the apartment. She gave us a great tip on a local fruit shop (great prices, magnificent fruit) and also good tips about Barcelona as we were going on a day trip. She was a great point of contact.
The campsite itself in terms of facilities was good. Decent pool (a little small) and a decent restaurant for snacks. They had entertainment most nights and we went to a few things there but generally we stayed in the town. The night time entertainment was very much aimed towards the many French students that were there, and this is fine as they seemed to be 90% of the visitors but with no translation it was sometimes hard to figure out what was going on.
All of the staff here at the site, from Sonya and the rest of the reception team to the shop and restaurant staff to the cleaners, they were all very friendly and helpful.
Site location - this was excellent. Less than 5 minutes from the beautiful beach and a ten minute walk to the centre of town. There are some large supermarkets within ten minutes. It was 35 minutes in a taxi to Girona airport, we paid €60 both ways.
The train station is at the far side of town, it's a 20 minute walk and trains are every 25 minutes to Barcelona (one hour, €33 for a family ticket return price).

I'd highly recommend Calella as a town to holiday in and also highly recommend Camping El Far to stay. Great holiday, we'd love to go back!

Robbie, Ireland.

Camping el far was ok, but we werent that happy. First we thought we had a very cute bungalow but after couple days it was horrible because there were ants everywhere! Even in your bed ... but we werent the only one ... and the only thing tHat the receptionist gave us was an antspray ... it didnt helped that much. What i still liked that they had bikes that we could have borrow for free.

We went camping in September and had a very peaceful, quiet pitch, with hardly any neighbours, overlooking the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a great stay! Calella is a lovely town with great restaurants and beaches. There's a fantastic cove with a picturesque restaurant/bar right on the beach near the campsite. We'll definitely go again in the spring!
