My partner and I stayed at Hotel Sant Jordi, Calella, for 5 nights in late July 2022. We loved it. A beautiful property in every way. We stayed in one of the suites and were very impressed with the proportions of the room, the size of the balcony complete with sun lounger, but most of all the cleanliness. The room, indeed the entire hotel was spotless. Full marks to the unseen housekeeping workforce.

Whilst we utilised the minibar, room service and the restaurant and whilst the prices reflected that of a 5* hotel, they certainly didn’t break the bank or leave one with that ‘buyers regret’ feeling. The reception staff were lovely, very professional and friendly.

The hotel has an outdoor pool and sun lounging area which is very private and relaxing … better in the early part of the day though (before 3pm) as it gets the shade in the evening. As with every other part of the hotel, it is spotlessly clean. There is an indoor pool, gym and spa area in the adjoining building however we didn’t use it on this occasion.

And if all of the above isn’t enough, the hotel is literally 1-2 streets from the beach, literally a 10 minute walk via a convenient subway under the railway line.

Saving the best until last though … ‘El Drac de la Calella’, the hotel restaurant, was simply exquisite. We ate in the restaurant on one night and went for the 11x course tasting menu. Personally I thought of it as the gastronomic highlight of our holiday. It was just fabulous as was the service team. Just by way of example in terms of price, 2x eleven course tasting menu, 1x bottle of white wine, 2x glasses of red wine, 1x glass of desert wine, and 6x 500ml bottles of sparkling water plus a 10% tip came to circa €275. It was so worth it for both the experience and the quality of the meal.

Absolutely full marks for this hotel.

Would we return? Absolutely, in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful 3 nights break at Sant Jordi: stylish decor, beautiful room, very attentive stuff, the SPA is great and offers all possible types of pools, jets etc. (and our massages were easily one of the best my husband and I eve had). Every single member of the hotel team, including the charming and multilingual General Manager, was going out of their way to make our stay perfect.

The restaurant deserves a review of it's own. El Drac is already mentioned in the Michelin guide and I don't think it will be long before it gets its first star - so hurry up while it is still possible to book! We had a mind-blowing 10 courses tasting menu for an incredibly reasonable price (and the wine list is great and not overpriced too which, coming from France, is a pleasant surprise).

Ask the reception for restaurants recommendations - we loved the basque restaurant only 100 meters away.

Thank you for a splendid romantic stay, hotel Sant Jordi!

Through a game of chance due to Covid travel restrictions we landed in Callela Spain at Saint Jordi Boutique hotel for the first 6 days of our holiday. The location is great in the quiet west end of Calella, but at 10-15 minutes walk from the city old town centre. The rooms are big enough, and well designed. The pool has sun from 9 to 14. The service is very nice and friendly. The restaurant El Drac has just got his first Michelin star, but is opened only in weekend. Really a place to come back!

I recently stayed at the Sant Jordi on the advice of a friend and was not disappointed. The manager and staff are charming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They made room for us at the restaurant one evening when it was raining and I cannot recommend the food highly enough. The rooms are comfortable, modern and well maintained. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Very comfortable rooms, excellent standard of cleanliness, friendly and extremely helpful staff. All staff but especially Victor and reception staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.
Great location, close to the beach and to the main shopping areas. Wonderful walks along the beach and coastal path to San pol de Mar.

I booked a several day stay at the Sant Jordi hotel with my wife at the beginning of a family trip with my brothers and their wives. It was truly a pleasure to stay there and to enjoy the spa. Francesc was simply fantastic, and I wish more hoteliers could be like him. The breakfast was great, the attention to detail and service were fantastic, likely all because of Francesc's leadership. My wife still raving about the hotel and said it was "the most relaxed" she had been in her life.

Would do again.

Excellent location, Excellent Staff and Friendly Staff
The rooms were well kept and cleaned every day.

The Gym and Spa were also very well maintained and a very welcome addition.

This is a hotel for those looking for a more individualized touch as opposed to just a place to stay.
I would highly recommend it as well as Stay there again. should I return to Calella

Hotel in good location with lots of free on street parking outside. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Large quiet room. Cannot fault anything.

The large gym is next door and easy to walk to.

Now just writing to fill the word limit. Done. Almost.

My Wife and I have just spent Christmas and the New Year at this Hotel and we can honestly say that it was the best Hotel we have stayed in for quite a while. The Staff were very very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was very good and plentiful. Overall a well run Hotel which we have no hesitation of recommending to anyone who wants a quiet break. With only 49 rooms the Hotel and a flat surrounding Area it is well suited to Elderly Customers. Out only disappointment was that we had to come home.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in Spain. All the hotel staff speak English and are very friendly. The food is very good and there is a good variety every day. The only downside I had about this hotel was the pool, it doesn't seem to get much sun, it felt like the hotel was built back to front but it didn't spoil our holiday, we just went down to the beach.

The hotel is close to the centre of Calella, about 15 minutes walk to the train station. You can get the train to Barcelona for 7 euros 70 cents (return).

One tip if you are going to Barcelona and plan to visit Nou Camp, get your tickets in advance, we turned up at Nou Camp and the queue was horrendous and because it was about 34 degrees was far too hot to queue. You can buy your tickets onlne or call in at a booth in the centre of La Rambla. I would highly recommend an open bus tour, these are really good value for money.

The resort of Calella was very disappointing. It is more geared up for the the germans and spanish which after reading reviews on here I half expected but actually seeing how the English bars are struggling out there is a shame. We went into the Alcatraz Bar and we were the only ones in the place, same goes for Beach Boys, The White Horse however was more busier but on our last night that seemed liked a youth club for german underage drinkers.

We travelled as a family with a 14 year old and would not recommend this resort for kids really as there is nothing for them to do here, unless you have entertainment on in your hotel.

To end..couldn 't fault the hotel or the location of it in Calella, but Calella was a big let down.
