Spent one night at this hotel and found it to be very relaxing and quiet. The room was a little small, but the staff was kind enough to move us to one with a lake view instead of our original one with a garden view.

The real star of this hotel is its restaurant. We ate dinner there and it was outstanding. We were lucky enough to have good weather and was able to dine on the terrace overlooking the water. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and the food was simply delicious. It made for a perfect evening.

The breakfast was also tasty with the typical offering of meats, cheeses and breads.

The hotel has a great location in parkland alongside Lake Constance, looking over to the German shore.
The hotel is in two parts; an older building on the lakeside with the restaurant and kitchens, and a modern building behind, with the reception and bedrooms.
Our room was modern, bright, clean and very atttractive, with views out the side of the hotel across the grass to the lake.
Our meals were set three course meals with no choice because of the rate we were on. The meals were all very good, so we weren't concerned at the lack of choice.
There is a large lakeside terrace, which was a very pleasant place to eat. The breakfasts were very good, the bread in particular being excellent.
We were delighted with the hotel, which we were booked into by our tour company for two nights as part of a cycling holiday round Lake Constance. We felt that we'd got very good value accommodation, because the hotel looked and felt like it should be quite expensive .

We stayed one night during a short walking trip along the Rhein/Bodensee. The rooms are in a modern accommodation block. We had a quiet corner room on the first floor overlooking the lake. It was a good size, clean with plenty of shelving/hanging space, a desk, and chairs. There was a fridge and fan if required and also complimentary apples and water. Patio doors opened onto a private balcony. We had a "proper" double bed (not two singles pushed together as is often the case!). The bathroom was a decent size with a modern walk-in shower. The evening meal in the restaurant in the old building opposite the accommodation block was good quality and nicely presented (not cheap)! We also enjoyed a local wine. The breakfast really was outstanding - with high quality produce, including smoked salmon and Prosecco as well as an array of nuts and seeds to accompany the cereals. There was also a "mega" coffee-making machine - thankfully a member of staff helped us use it!!

The first shock you receive when at the hotel's address you arrive to a
construction site of a large high-rise building.
The hotel itself is right behind the construction site, and (1) there is no
park announced, only a narrow patch of grass.
We were lucky in it at least being a weekend, so the construction site was
deserted, but on workdays you should additionally expect loud & busy
construction works going on.
(2) Hotel rooms are located not "in a 13th-century monastery" announced, but in
a modern building of glass & aluminum which is more of an office building than
a place to rest in.
Adjacently to a window and a tiny balcony of our room, a collective
glass-walled corridor was running perpendicularly, so you are in full view of
any other hotel guests passing by and thus you have to stay behind fully
closed curtains whole day.
The old building shown on the hotel photographs holds only a restaurant, but
the food offered there is limited to sandwiches.
We would have left the place immediately had we a free cancellation, and thus
we were glad it was only for one night.
After seeing in a room my wife said "Let me make it clear: i do not like to be
here", so we had to drive to a different town along the Rhine and spend the
whole day there for the mere sake of being as little time as possible at the
hotel location.
The hotel is the WORST experience in our 2-week trip, and with that the most
expensive with respect to per night rate.
Unless you own a yacht standing in marina nearby, you would wish to stay away
from this hotel.

The only saving grace of the restaurant is the beautiful location. The food was tasteless, the veal dish was tough and fatty. For such a high prices, I would also expect better and more accommodating service. A simple request for an appetizer salad that doesn't have green salad, we were told that's not possible. However, a main course later revealed that the Fitness plate had all the ingredients.
Very disappointing. We even declined dessert and went somewhere else.

This hotel in a beautiful park and next to the lake is a splendid place to calm down !
Breakfast or dinner on the terrace with view over the lake is very relaxing.
Rooms are not very spacious but comfortable.
The breakast buffet is not enormous but lovely and fresh .
Very friendly staff !

We booked this hotel by chance and were very impressed.
We didn't get a room with the lake view but we had the rose garden instead - very pleasant...
The rooms have been renovated so everything was very nicely done.
The service was excellent and the food was very good.
The hotel is right on the lake with a beautiful park around it.
It's not cheap but it is excellent.

The location is fabulous. We could sit on the terrace and the view on the lake was beautiful. The menu is good, enough choice and super quality. Service was swift and friendly. Can really recommend this place.
Steckborn is a lovely old town with nice little shops to stroll around. Will be back again.

We spend a nice weekend at the hotel which is right at the border of the lake. Steffen volk and his team did an amazing job and offered a great service. The food at the hotel restaurant is fresh and excellent. The rooms have a small balcony with view to the lake and include free mineral water. A place to come again!

Mother nature did the best, the lake and the park in autumn are really nice, walking on the lake side you can see all the autumn's color, and the humans did the rest, the park is well mantained and cleaned, has also a grill usable. The hotel looking the lakes is really nice. Spent two days of absolute peace and rest.
