Charming and quiet Hotel, location near a canal, romantic place... The rooms are comfortable and spacious ... attentive staff. Dogs accepted Very good breakfast. Very good restaurant also, fresh food and seasonal products. A very nice step to visit this beautiful region.

When booked I specifically ordered a room with a double bed. The bed looked comfortable, but how wrong was that observation. Our romantic night turned into a disastrous non-event. The double bed was two single bed loosely joined together which quickly separated to become a grand canyon. So one could say the bed was not fit for purpose. A constantly...

Thank you for your reaction and sorry for the misunderstanding. Of course we also have rooms with double beds as you originally asked, but your were delighted with the rooms in the garden and on the water. You told us nothing about your 'plans', otherwise we should have given you another advise. What the dinner concerns we were prepared to...

We only stayed one night in this lovely old style hotel in the center of Edam, a beautiful peaceful little town. The hotel is right by a canal and surrounded by a colorful garden with seating area away from the street. The rooms are situated in five typical houses around the garden and on the canal. The old style rooms...

This was a wonderful hotel, they type you could not have in the USA because of government regulations. The buildings are old, and a second egress via fire escape is not necessarily present. If you are obsessive about safety, ask for a room suitable for your needs. If not, enjoy an incredibly fabulous hotel. Some of the rooms in the...

We loved our stay, perfect location, wifi was fast, rooms were clean, patio view was scenic. Friendly staff especially Bart! We really enjoyed the different flavored chocolates on the nightstand too! Extra bonus...we left a cherished stuffed animal in our room and Nicholas was so kind to return him back to our family in the states! :)

This place is impossible to pass by without going inside at least to admire it even if you can't afford to eat in there - it is quite pricey. The decor is about as perfect as it gets. On top of that it sits alongside a pretty canal with tables and chairs on a terrace for eating al fresco. It...

This was my first trip to Edam and I am so glad that I went. We loved our room at Hotel De Fortuna, and Nicholas was wonderful at check-in. Our room was spacious, the bathroom large and modern. There was a small refrigerator and a teapot and instant coffee and tea available in the room. The restaurant itself was beautiful,...

My wife and I stayed here a night on a recent trip through the Netherlands. Also ate dinner at their excellent restaurant. They have a collection of charming rooms in a series of buildings on the corner of two canals with a nice courtyard and lovely main breakfast - dining room. Totally clean, great fun, and so cute. We really...

Beautifully located on a canal in the charming, not-too-touristy township of Edam. Our room was on the small side but was compensated for by the wonderful dinner we were served. Close enough to Amsterdam yet attractively rustic and secluded.

Beautiful, beautiful garden. We even had canary birds in our room. Food in the restaurant is delicious, so is the breakfast. This place feels like home, a beautiful home. The only downside was the wifi, which was extremely slow. I have visited this place MANY times, so I definitely like it. Pet friendly.
