The Manor Elstree hotel garners praise for its high-quality food, comfortable accommodations, and picturesque grounds, with guests often appreciating its prime location near local attractions. While the staff is frequently lauded for their friendliness and attentiveness, there are occasional remarks about the service's speed and consistency. The rooms receive mixed reviews, ranging from cozy and well-kept to dated, with some guests feeling the price doesn't match the room quality and cleanliness. Despite some maintenance issues and critiques on atmosphere, the hotel's decor and events have left many with a positive impression.

Lovely Tudor Style Manor House in beautiful surroundings and great views over London and surrounding area. Extra bonus was the nice lounge area on the first floor.
Bedroom was tastefully decorated, very clean with a good size comfortable bed and plenty of complimentary toiletries, a coffee machine and biscuits (freshly baked by their pastry chef – delicious)

Food was excellent – we had both breakfast (great buffet selection – thank you for the perfectly cooked ‘soft poached’ eggs) and an Evening Meal – great variety on the menu and the food was perfectly cooked – compliments to the Chef.
Bar was well stocked which is always a good thing!!
Staff were polite, friendly and attentive.
Plenty of Parking
Added bonus is that we discovered it’s very close to Wembley Stadium and we have a Concert there later in the year, and so we have booked to stay again.
Thanks to everyone at the hotel and we look forward to our next visit in July.

From the moment we arrived at The Manor, the quality of the service by all staff was excellent. The food was of the highest quality in the Restaurant, Bar and function room. Our afternoon tea for 60 people was lovely and fresh and well presented. The service was timely, efficient and professional. They used Hermolis to cater for our 20 kosher guests, which was equally served with discretion and great professionalism. We also had an impromptu dinner for 16 people in the evening which the staff catered for very well. Nothing was too much trouble.

We booked here as a last minute stay before visiting The Harry Potter Studio Tour 20 mins away .
On arrival, the hotel looks impressive, the entrance is beautiful and staff friendly. We stayed in Notting Hill room located at the top of a staircase. The room was a good size, bed comfortable and shower had good pressure. If the hotel was busy, the room may be noisy with passing guests but we were lucky that it was quiet. We ate in the restaurant at night, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our waitress was very attentive. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed the breakfast the following morning. There is a good selection on offer with hot food cooked to order. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return if ever in the area again.

Stayed overnight on a Saturday when visiting friends and family in the area. Location was very convenient for family in Radlett and was one of the cheaper hotels in the area. Reception was fairly friendly although we were surprised at a £30 deposit required against damage, not something we're used to at hotels. We had been emailed by the hotel to inform us there is no lift, but fortunately we're fit enough for the climb to the top floor for our room. This will be a real issue with any with mobility of fitness issues. Our room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable, although there were only two pillows. Bathroom was adequate although the toiletries provided were solid bars and I'm not convinced the shampoo and conditioner really worked. Breakfast the following morning was very poor indeed. None of the cooked food looked particularly appetising and continental breakfast meant toast (no rolls) and sliced cheese kept in the dairy chiller. Coffee from a flask, as the coffee machine only dispensed espresso, was very overcooked and barely drinkable. Did I complain, no as there seemed little point as what there was was already there. I was however concerned when I saw a member of staff restocking the bread basket with bare hands. Overall the hotel looks very tired and desperately in need of some upgrading and care. We certainly won't return.

I booked a one night stay as a treat for my wife and I.
We had stayed here before when it was Laura Ashley, which was great so thought I would book it again a few years letter.

I booked through Booking.com and paid £157 for a Superior Double Room, as advertised on their website.
What I got was NOTHING like the advertised pictures with VERY plain and shabby rundown decor.
The room was no bigger than a standard double room going by the website pictures.
It was VERY shabby with issues such as broken toilet seat, cracked bathroom furniture / work surface, the bed was uncomfortable and carpet & walls were stained and even the tea & coffee facilities were poor. It also had an adjoining door which would mean we would hear the people in the adjoining room.
I complained and we were moved to another room, which was marginally better, but clearly it was a standard double, as again it looked nothing like their advertising pictures for a superior room and was even missing some facilities, which we had paid for that were in the previous room, but not in the second room.
I have attached some pictures from the second room that was marginally better. As you can see if this was the marginally better room it does highlight how bad the first room was.
I travel a lot for work and stay in lots of different priced hotels and honestly I stayed at a Premier Inn the other week that was far better than this…….. stay here at you peril…

Decided to go to the Manor Elstree for our annual Cousins Christmas meet up. A lot of us travel from all over to one location and this year was here we had our own dining room next to the restaurant that was fantastic, dressed up with Christmas decorations and Christmas music with the current decor of the Manor made it even feel more Christmassy. Other than the food being excellent, the service was 2nd to none. we even had the chef come out and check on us after the meal to make sure everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. Also had family staying over the night and all confirm that they had a great day with a great breakfast in the morning will be definitely going back there again next year can’t wait .

Well let’s start with the good and say full English breakfast was tasty and quickly produced. The rest …
We stayed for a party (food again good but bar service embarrassingly poor) and had a room that involved a labyrinth of stairs and corridors to reach - do not even attempt if you are ageing. The room size was adequate but the double bed was just “double” and the mattress was like a marshmallow. And there was no heat in the room in November. This was reported at 6.30pm and we were told the engineer was fixing the boiler … nothing had changed by bedtime. Next morning we were told we would have been given a heater if we had reported it - like we did?!?! The receptionist claimed he had no authority to give any reduction but we could wait until 5pm when a manager arrived; it was 10am and we were checking out. (We did manage to get a small reduction for the lack of heat after a lot of discussion)
There will not be a return visit

We stayed in a standard double room as part of a big party gathering. The actual hotel, grounds, bar and restaurant are beautiful with lovely decor and atmosphere throughout. Our room wasn't in the main house, it was in the extended bit which was quite a walk away and down various stairs which is fine, but avoid if you have mobility issues.

Our first room we were told to go to was already occupied so we were switched to a different room (luckily no one was in there or could have been quite awkward!). On the way to the room there were trays of leftover breakfast left outside rooms and were there for a good few hours before they were collected. The room was OK - the toilet flush wasn't great and the furniture had stains on them. The headboard was filthy and the double bed was rather on the small side. We had two fluffy pillows each and a coffee machine which was a nice touch. Our room had a lovely view of the bins so the room felt very dark and small.

The carpet and walls in corridors and the room were in serious need of an update - everywhere just looked a bit tired and weathered. The toilets in the main building were down some stairs so if you have mobility issues, this isn't great.

The staff were extremely hard working and friendly, the barman made amazing cocktails and nothing was too much work. The food we had was delicious and we felt really full afterwards. The buffet breakfast was tasty - however there was a constant wait for various items as food was never constantly topped up.

We had a nice time, but don't think we will be visiting again.

We stayed here as visiting family nearby and booked a deluxe double with a queen bed.
The room was lovely, good size bed, definitely larger than a double with tea and coffee. Good, powerful shower. Only minus being no fridge to store proper milk, no complimentary water and tacky plastic cups in the bathroom, should be glass

Breakfast on Saturday was cooked to order with plenty of choices and delicious but missing tea or coffee to the table, you have to queue for the slowest coffee machine in the world and only one machine. They really should have filter coffee available. On Sunday it was a buffet with no hot options apart from cooked breakfast standards but still tasty.

We had dinner Saturday night and whilst my wife’s Asparagus starter and fillet steak were fabulous, my Calamari starter, followed by home beer battered cod and chips was uninspiring and flat! I upgraded the chips to the parmesan and truffle chips which were very good.

A nice bar, well stocked and friendly bar staff, although on occasion overrun!

Lovely location and fabulous for visiting locally, my only other negative is the disabled parking, one space near the entrance, only marked by a small wooden sign in front of it in the grass, there should be at least three, properly marked on the ground, twice we returned, my wife is disabled, to find a non- badged car there. The hotel does get very busy at times with non guests visiting for meals, weddings or conferences.

I hope this feedback is constructive to the hotel and we would certainly return as we found all staff very helpful.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary with 11 guests and 3 grandchildren under 4 years old. the hotel was able to provide a private room with access to the gardens which insulated the other guests from the noise generated by our party. The food was well presented and too a good standard and was complemented by the available wines. The staff were very helpful and the kitchens met the dietary requirements of the children and guests. My only criticism is that on arrival the bar services was slow probably because there was only one barmaid who was overwhelmed by the number of guests arriving at the same time.overall a very pleasant afternoon.
