Not expected, must admit did not expect, this hotel to be as good as it turned out to be, so let me tell you, after a very long drive, six hours, we arrived, first impression, very impressed, what a lovely building, and I could drive right up to the main entrance, lovely, the driveway itself very inviting, lovely location, trees...

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch with my wife today, including a lovely walk around the grounds. It is always a very relaxed atmosphere, great service and delicious food. Booked a dinner party for 10 people while we were there and are also looking forward to our B&B overnight stay - a Christmas present from our children. 3 wonderful different occasions in...

Stayed in the Gilbert Suite and can honestly say it was excellent. The room is lovely and very comfortable. Warm and airy with lovely views. Bathroom nice and had everything we needed. Had breakfast at £12 each and this was very nice. Good selection of food for the cooked and the continental breakfast, not just cheap food to fill up...

If you like comfy bed and a good shower don't bother. Room in lodge was basic. Old sprung mattress not comfy and noisy when you roll over. Shower useless. Breakfast was ok. Would not use again. Main house very impressive but used mainly for weddings.

Excellent hotel in every respect, booked on a whim and we hit the bullseye. Stayed the night before New Years Eve and hotel quiet and restaurant closed but adequate options on special bar menu and they even managed to supply our off-menu requests. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was cooked to order and excellent. We will be staying...

Great location. Very focused on events. Accommodation average (though not an integral part of the building itself). Reasonable value for money (as a non-event guest) - given the overall "style" of the place. Certainly not the sort of place to book into if you're looking for staff encouraged to "go that extra mile". Restaurant fine - EXCEPT FOR A BREAKFAST...

brought my father here for lunch today as a Gilbert and Sullivan fan. I wanted to show him Gilbert's house - Amazing building. so beautiful. Back to the resturant. The quality of the food was superb, service was the best , attentive but not intrusive. In my opinion a must visit.

Location amazing. Nice clean room , very recommended car needed to get there . very friendly stuff . No lift to room so don't come with heavy luggage. But the breakfast was precooked and warmed up which was disappointing.

Went for a night stay. The hotel is located in a beautiful area, the main building is a old refurbished estate. The rooms are big and spacious.. The bar is small and inviting. The only thing that i found anoying was the Breakfast ,paid 12 pounds for the breakfast and when i ordered the English breakfast with scrambled egg we reviced...

We stayed here for a friends wedding. The hotel was nice, clean for UK standards. Staff relatively friendly. However, I was foolish enough to give my credit card for a tab should we want to have breakfast or use the bar. 50 GBP were booked off even though we did not make use of any of the facilities. Did address...
