#3 of 4 B&Bs / Inns in Portishead
Gotha Villa is a characterful Victorian property in Portishead. Its enviable location means that it enjoys dramatic views of the Severn Estuary, whilst being within easy walking distance of local shops and the High Street. There is an onsuite double bedroom available to guests. The house has a lovely position over the Severn Estuary looking out at the remote Denny Island, to the Welsh hills beyond and the lake grounds and fields below. The bedroom overlooks the Victorian walled gardens. The room has a TV . There is also internet access. Off-street parking is available. We cannot take pets as we already have our own friendly Golden Retriever.

Elizabeth is is a wonderful, friendly host - nothing is too much trouble. The room was clean and of a good size - with lovely views of the coast. Great location for walks around Portishead and easy travelling to Bristol.

We did a bike tour from London to Portishead and stayed in The Gotha Villa as our final destination. We loved our stay, had a big room with big bathroom and a gorgeous view on the cost of Wales. Great food and view in the Pub nearby, nice walks along the cost. The best place to rest and relax !

We have stayed in many bed & breakfast establishments and this one is by far the worst we've experienced. There was a complete lack of hospitality and we were made to feel very unwelcome. We were prepared to overlook the fact that it was very basic and shabby accommodation but the rudeness of the owner was just not acceptable. How she has managed to get good reviews in the past is a mystery as it was quite obvious she is only in it for the money and guests are an inconvenience. She really needs to up her game in the future!

Gotha Villa is exactly as described on its website: a characterful house, located close to local amenities. The cosy bedroom overlooks a terraced garden as does the sizeable bathroom, which has a shower and an elegant roll-top bath. Elizabeth is a very friendly host who has, evidently, taken safety seriously: the bedroom is equipped with a smoke alarm and extinguisher, and has its own clearly marked fire exit. Even if you don't stay for breakfast, be sure to take in the beautiful views from the dining room across the hall. And don't forget to greet Bramble, the Golden Retriever - a suitably distinguished gentleman!

Absolutely fabulous! Welcoming, friendly and above all clean! Local for town and amenities, close to links to Bristol. The view is of the bay and across the bridge to Cardiff is amazing. And the bath in the en suite is to die for!! Thank you Elizabeth for your very kind hospitality x
