The overall appearance is very appealing. Having entered and ready to order drinks there was limited choice on tap. Only one ale (Abbot) of which I have had far better. I tried the Guiness.... no better! The front of house staff are lacking some much needed training as they don't know how to deal with guests appropriately, this I consider...

We arrived when the carvery had finished a Sunday. Service was good, however we had about six different waiters. We had to orders drinks three times before we finally go it. The burgers had a terrible tasting sauce inside so my kids would not eat it. The beetroot, goats cheese, honey sounded good but tasted awful. I told the waiter and...

Nice location and they did well to put on a great wedding! Beer wise my partner had big problems as beer from the tap was flat despite trying two pumps Food wise,we had a great roast beef joint which each table carved,a fab idea! Overall nice venue but wouldn't rush back if we were in the area

We stayed in The Cottage which is separate from the main building, which made it feel even more private. For those who need to be online, the wifi doesn't reach and there is no phone signal but to be honest a few hours offline is a good thing. The room is of a good size and very warm and comfortable,...

Great rooms good bar and function room would definitely recommend staying here. Rooms are clean well maintained and stylish soft beds and good sized bathrooms. The sense of history is palatable Winston Churchill down through history to Henry the 8th.

We visited around 7.45 on a Sunday and they did explain that they shut at 9, checked with the kitchen and they were really good about it. I know it can be a massive pain sometimes as I work within a similar place. We had been travelling home for a while and we were starving. This inn is so local...

3 of us went for lunch between Xmas and the New Year on a damp foggy day. The restaurant was chilly and one of my companions put her outdoor coat back on. Bar and table service was slow . Staff were doing their best but not enough of them. Fish and chips- a few hard lumps in the over battered...

We stayed last Saturday night in the pump house room situated in the car park. The price was around £100 so we had high hopes. Upon arrival we were taken to our room which is very separated from the rest of the main building. Summary of room: • Stiff and difficult to operate main lock on door • Dirty marks...

I would strongly advice anyone not to visit. The food was absolutely disgraceful. The service shocking. Cold at the tables. Blocked entrance to toilets. Other diners sitting there in overcoats. I can't think we have ever had a worse meal. Don't bother complaining as I did (in writing) as they aren't prepared to do anything about it.
