Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a fabulous meal at the Reef Inn this evening. I had the sweet potato and spinach curry and my friend had sea bass and both were delicious. Reasonably priced too - we paid £44 for two mains and drinks. Would have loved a cocktail but sadly was driving! The bar/restaurant is beautifully furnished and the waitress was really lovely, helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tiree. It’s very dog friendly too!

It was blowing a Gail on Tiree and the Reef Inn was the perfect escape. Comfy seating area for a drink and fantastic meal. Great atmosphere with a scandi feel. Loved the scallops. Wish I'd tried a cocktail! Thanks so much for a lovely evening, would highly recommend.

We have had a few meals here this summer which have been nice. The food is good but is let down by cold plates, one meal the broccoli was cold. The restaurant is so noisy with the concrete floor it was impossible to hold a conversation at the table, every time we were there which spoiled the dining experiences. Acoustic panels or some soft furnishings might help. The staff were excellent, well trained and friendly.

A nice modern space with lovely staff. Service was quick and efficient but the menu felt limited and I don't feel the food matched the price. Had the scallops and the steak and while it was nice it wasn't anything to write home about. The chimichurri steak came with whole slices of chillis and no olive oil - was more a set of toppings rather than a sauce. I'm sure the hotel is lovely and can't speak for the servings at breakfast / lunch.

Enjoyed an evening meal here recently while staying on Tiree. The reef is a modern hotel/restaurant close to the airport. The food and service were great, not a massive menu but something nice on there for all groups. we thoroughly enjoyed our evening there but bare in mind it’s evening opening hours are 5-8pm so no good if you like later dining.

Housed in a modern architecture black barn you will find a bright contemporary restaurant with rooms. We visited for a meal with good options and nice atmosphere. The rooms look lovely although we didn’t stay. Worth a visit, you can book tables online.

Spent a couple of days here in June with unbelievably good weather. A recently built hotel of chic Skandi design. In keeping, our room was somewhat austere but had an enormous very comfortable bed, although it had a rug on only one side to protect the lucky one from the polished concrete floor! The staff were young, pleasant, competent and helpful. Good breakfasts and our meal on first night was excellent from a menu with various starters, mains and desserts. Meal on second night labelled as “Pizza night” which we assumed would feature additional pizzas with a standard menu. NO! Choice for dinner consisted only of 5 pizza variations and a couple of desserts. No starters or other main courses offered. This was very disappointing and not what I would expect from a quality hotel - the Premier Inn offers more. They apparently do this two nights a week. Presumably may attract some locals and will reduce kitchen staffing costs but not fair on their other guests. This was a pity as it spoiled our impressions of what should be the best modern hotel on Tiree.

Stylish, light and bright Scandi-chic decor. Pleasant location. Relaxed, very friendly and unhurried service. Rooms were very spacious. Food was very good and very reasonably priced as was the wine. A very pleasant surprise!
