What a great find for us. Chris & Gail are great hosts, A very warm welcome very helpful and accommodating. Option of pitch, when we got there. So peaceful & quite. Being a Greener caravan club too, was good for us. A real back to nature camp. There were other campers pitched about, but we never heard them and hardly saw them. We liked the way the pitches were tucked in their own little area if you wanted that. We had a whole field to ourselves, plenty of space for a 7 year old to explore. The site for us was very central to beaches and amenities we didn't travel more than a 12 mile radius to get anywhere.

We visited for the first time at the end of September. As our first proper camping trip with our 5 Bichon Frise, other than a few weekend trips where we were working at events, we were looking for somewhere dog friendly and where we could have space for the dogs to relax without bothering anyone else. The campsite is lovely with camping spaces, campervan pitches and room for caravans. We had a lakeside pitch with electric hook up which was massive and it was a real bonus that there was no charge for dogs or extras like gazebos. I set up the panels for two huge dogs pens in a long line to fence off a large horseshoe shaped area next to our van which was bordered on the other sides by thick hedgerows so we had a large 'garden area' to set up a gazebo, campfire and to keep the dogs amused in safely. (the bit you park on is rock/gravel too so no chance of getting stuck) Being able to have a campfire is brilliant and you can buy firewood or bring your own and the lovely owners bought our wood over with an extra firepit incase ours wasnt big enough. They also gave us a food waste bin and recycling bags. The showers are hot and clean, there are two toilets, each with it's own shower and plenty of room to get dried and changed. There is a dog walking field, which is lovely, although its sheep fenced so escape artists like my little dogs can get out of it but it's a lovely place to walk them on the lead (if your dogs have better recall than mine then they can go off the lead and run about in the lovely big space). The night stars are amazing and you can see red kits, buzzards and hawks overhead during the day and plenty of bats at night! There isnt much mobile signal but if you're looking for an off grid retreat then this is perfect. Its located really well for exploring the west coast and it's really a beautiful site to relax in and enjoy the wildlife and get away from it all. The owners are really helpful and friendly...we couldnt have wished for a better holiday. If you're in any doubt or you have this place on a shortlist then I'd definitely reccomend it.…

This is a wonderful place to camp - lovely countryside and a very small peaceful camp site - some hard standing (with grass alongside) and grass pitches - some with electric hook-up. There are lake-side pitches too. The showers and loo block is small and simple but clean - exactly what we wanted and we never had to wait to use any of the amenities. Good thoughtful approach to recycling, composting and rubbish collection. Gill and Chris are very welcoming friendly hosts and communicated very promptly by email and messages - and are dog-friendly so our dogs could run free (obviously with us ensuring there was never any trace of them left behind!). We loved this place and will definitely return there - and tell our friends too - so many beautiful places to explore in the area and not over-run even in high season.…
