Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have just spent 2 nights at the hotel as we needed to attend a family event nearby. We stayed in a classic double room which was positioned at the side of the hotel rather than in the main building. This suited us perfectly as we were able to return after the main door was locked at 10pm! The room was very clean, compact, but enough room for 2 with a small wardrobe area, a comfy bed and a fabulous shower. The breakfast was lovely and the lady serving was very friendly and efficient. We would perhaps have preferred to have the option to eat a little later as the kitchen closed at 9am, but we appreciate that this makes business sense as the hotel clearly provides a service for local workmen who want to eat early. Ample parking too

Just for context - I was not a guest. I was a musician at a wedding last night. One thing I have never done is leave a review on a venue I play at because why would I? But today I'm compelled to. STUNNING venue. The staff are AMAZING (Thanks Julie). It's very rare that we (the band) have ever felt to accommodated and looked after by the staff. We were shown where to set up, given space to change and freshen up, Julie and her team made sure that it only the guests had a great time and were looked after, but us as the performers were also. Nobody tried to whisper in our ears to announce the buffet was open (which people always do mid-song while we're wearing in-ear monitors), instead a little sign was held up. Small things like that make not only our jobs easier, but a better experience for the guests also because nobody wants to see venue staff wade through a dance floor and pull you to one side in the middle of singing a chorus just to tell you the hog roast is ready. Oh, and hog roasts at weddings are super common and generally very nice. BUT - This hog roast and coleslaw were SOMETHING ELSE. Maybe it was so good because we didn't have that bitter taste in our mouths from being directed to a disabled toilet to change into our suits to perform. As a wedding vendor and artist, I've never been so compelled to tell the world about a venue. Yeah I post on Facebook if I've had a great time, but this was a top-tier wedding experience for us as a band. Thank you so much to Julie and her amazing team. - The Wurlitzers -

This is a real surprise. It’s a really nice hotel in a small Welsh market town. The building is very nice, the rooms are comfortable and well decorated and extremely comfortable but the stars are the staff, especially the restaurant staff. Breakfast is a real highlight with an excellent Eggs Benedict in the menu alongside the traditional sausage, bacon and eggs. If you want a great hotel in a lovely part of the world, this is a great place to stay. One warning - if you follow your satnav it will take you the front of the hotel and the ‘just wide enough’ archway. Don’t do it - you’ll likely scratch your car. There is a proper entrance tucked away on the side-street adjacent to the hotel.

Went for the weekend on business. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bed was very comfortable. They let me eat my takeaway dinner in the lounge which was very good of them. Easy parking at the back too, lots o spaces. Would definitely stay there again.

A very clean and comfortable hotel. I had a single room, which was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean. All the facilities worked properly in the room. Breakfast was very good, with the usual options available, cooked and / or cereal etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful, which is always a bonus. There are some good environmental policies and actions in place. I would be happy to stay again.

I attended a wedding here in June 2023. What a lovely little hidden gem. A lovely setting for a wedding, the grounds were well kept and pretty. It was a sunny day so we spent a lot of time outside and it was lovely. The main wedding room was fab. We had afternoon tea as the wedding breakfast, and it was wonderful! The tea sets were so pretty and the food itself was amazing. All freshly prepared (the cakes baked by a local farmers wife) the selection was just fabulous. The rooms are simple and clean...thats all you need when you have been celebrating all day, somewhere to put your head down. I had a single room and the bed was so comfy! I'd like to thank the staff on the day for making it so memorable for the brides and all their guests. My question is....will the afternnon tea become a permenant feature? : ) Because I have told so many about it! Thank you Gwesty'r Emlyn!

Original room was so hot, mattress uncomfortable and really difficult to open the window. Eggs on reception so helpful and was able to change my room to another. Nothing too much trouble, so helpful. This is my third visit and will stay again, highly recommend.

This was reviewed at the time of visiting. No staff upon arrival, bathroom awful, tiles filthy and mouldy, rotten mouldy windows. No dining room as such. Breakfast very poor, with inefficiently trained staff.

One of the worst breakfasts i’ve had. Mystery meat sausage, very salty grey bacon, beans so sweet they should have been served as a dessert. A hash brown that tasted of the freezer. They had run out of gas for the hobs, which makes you think that if they dont put an effort into looking after how much gas they have the produce isn’t going to be up to much.
