The Charlotte is not your average hotel. My friends and I have stayed there for the past three years on our way to the Outer Banks (and stop to say hello on our way home). We now look forward to visiting Onancock as much as reaching our final destination. The ambiance is perfect; warm and inviting. When you open the... More

INNKEEPER’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 27 June 2016

My wife and I stayed here for a few days escape. The staff is so friendly, and the hotel is adorable. The furnishings are great, and the decor is perfect. This is a nice change from the cookie cutter hotels that we typically find ourselves in. A real class act! If you are looking to get away, to a small... More

The room was beautifully appointed and had a great, very comfortable bed. Charming decor with interesting wall hangings and decorations but not cluttered. The hosts were terrific and the breakfast was excellent.

We have stayed at the Charlotte House numerous times and were there again this past weekend. This hotel has maintained a consistently high level of good service, accommodations, and food over the years. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, charmingly decorated with painted floors, stained glass windows, and lovely lines. , The food is absolutely among the best you will... More

I had a brief one-night stay at the Charlotte on a recent trip down the VA and NC coast. The small town of Onancock is pleasant enough, particularly around the harbourside, and out-of-season was quiet. I had a lovely, comfortable, quaint room with a great bed on the top floor (it's a long way up with a case). Hosts were... More

We were lucky enough recently to discover this delightful hotel in a charming town. We stayed 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both evenings. (separate review). From the moment we walked in the front door I was smitten. The tiny lobby is artfully decorated, as is the entire building. The small, cozy bar exudes the feeling of having discovered... More

We spent one night on our way north and wished we could have stayed longer. We were in the king-size room in a charming Victorian house around the corner from the Inn. The house had two guest rooms upstairs and ours was large and well appointed with soaking tub, separate bathroom, desk, sitting area, TV. Coffee, ice, water, wine glasses... More

This is a neat little place full of charm located right in the middle of Onancock. We actually stayed in an annex around the corner. If you have difficulty with stairs you might want to request a room in the main building where there is a lift; the stairs in the annex are narrow and a little steep. The room... More

Lovely hotel in quaint town of Onancock on the Eastern Shore. The hotel is within walking distance to the water, shopping and dining. The Inn is charming and friendly with character throughout the hotel. Charlotte is an artist with and her pieces hang throughout the Hotel. Dinner was absolutely awesome! We enjoyed it so much, we requested the chef come... More

We spent only one night because we were just passing through. We had a room in the annex house across the street and it was large and lovely. The room was remodeled and gave you more then enough room to spread out at the desk or in a lounge chair. Very nice and comfortable. That night we ate at the... More
