We stayed in the yellow house next to the big Inn. We had a charming 2nd floor room. And there was a living room downstairs that is meant to be shared by anyone staying in that house. There was nobody else there at the time and we had a lovely time visiting with friends who live nearby. It felt like...

Ambiance, menu offerings, service, value, location, what's not to like? We went with the signature dish, She Crab Soup, and a pair of small Smithfield country ham rolls. The good: The food. Appetizers and entrees all really tasty. The crowd - seemed to be a lot of locals that were really enjoying themselves. The bad: the drinks - lemon drop martinis were so sugary sweet we sent them back, and cosmos so strong that they were (almost) undrinkable.The ugly: Service. Had an excellent lunch on a weekday. The service was superb along with a very good meal. Worth the trip from across the James. The lunch specials are a real value. Haven't stayed there, but it is a great location
