It was an average afternoon tea, coffee was luke warm, too much mustard on the sandwiches. There were 4 lots of sponge cake, could have done with a better variety of cakes. Staff left us to it - no one came and asked if everything was alright or if needed anything else.

Upon check in we were given room 37 which is probably the worst room in the entire hotel for the simple reason it is directly above the main entrance door and every time some one enters or leaves it slams itself shut so you can imagine on a Sat night there is always ppl coming and going. Also upon checking...

I have frequented this establishment for many years on each visit to Kelso - although slightly outdated and needing refurbishment the Ednam House has always appealed to me as it is one of the traditional hotels and although old fashioned it has a wonderful charm of nostalgia about it. We lays enjoyed a good bar lunch always ordering the same...

We were a table of 12 for evening meal. Lovely room, table set beautifully. We had all pre ordered our meals. Given the expectation of the quality of the establishment we were not prepared for the terrible service we received. The bar service was a joke. Waiting over 10 minutes for drinks and then they were the wrong drinks. The...

The staff were wonderful, warm, friendly, helpful. We would like to give a special mention to Louisa on reception, Nicky in the Bar and Hilda, Cleaner. They were lovely and delightfully welcoming to our little dog Colin. Many hotels will allow dogs, the staff at this hotel genuinely welcome them. Our room was very nice, with three aspects showing great...

Nice friendly hotel & lovely welcome. Beautiful grounds to the rear of the property & a hearty breakfast in the morning. The attic room is a little tired & could perhaps do with some freshening up, but it was very clean & great for an overnight stay & the bed was extremely comfortable. (Definitely needs a couple of more plug...

We stayed at the Ednam House Hotel for one night while visiting a friend in Kelso. It was truly excellent. Although we arrived a touch early our room was ready; the helpful receptionist showed us to the room. It was located in the Orangery; a separate building from the main part of the hotel and located closer to the beautiful...

Although we were staying elsewhere in Kelso, decided to drop in for dinner and see the Ednam House which appeared quite attractive in on line advertisements. Well we found the decor and furnishings to be not only dated but somewhat tacky and in need of repair. Dining room overlooked the River Tweed and was decorated in bordello reds. That aside ,...

My wife and I booked an impromptu two night break at this hotel, the purpose was to surprise our friends who had also booked a break, I am disabled and require the use of either a wheelchair or my scooter, upon arriving at the hotel it was obvious that it is not disability friendly, a large set of stairs lead...
