The historic Dungeness Barn House Bed & Breakfast is located on Dungeness Bay over-looking the Strait, Dungeness Spit & Lighthouse. The spacious beautifully appointed suites have private baths. Enjoy walks on the private beach and beautiful sunsets from the beach deck. Watch eagles soaring overhead and ships going through the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The beautiful gardens surrounding the home are planned for year round enjoyment. Winter is special time to sit in front of the great room fireplace and watch the white capped waves marching down the Strait.

The best B&B experience I have ever had. The room, grounds and location were just gorgeous. The room was huge, beautifully decorated, spotless. There was a large living room space with frig, microwave, coffee, snacks breakfast, etc. amazing views of the water. Claire, the owner, is amazing. Such a magical place, I cannot say enough! Loved it!

We had an amazing stay in the studio suite overlooking the beautiful front garden, Strait of Juan de Fuca and Dungeness Spit. We loved the fresh eggs provided for breakfast from the chickens out back and were able to snip some fresh dill and parsley from the gardens when we prepared our scrambled eggs. The room and bed were super comfortable and also loved having a soaking tub along with provided bubble bath product. The suite gave us a perfect vantage point for the Lavender Festival and it was an exceptional experience that we will forever remember. Thank you so much, Clare!!

Clare, innkeeper and proprietor, is so very kind and conscientious. The location is superb! Snow capped mountains — including Mount Olympus — from our very spacious room’s windows while also being able to watch the occasional cruise ship and cargo/container ship amble by. Vancouver island is easily seen on the horizon. Dungeoness Barnhouse has private beach access so hunting for sea glass, shells and barnacle-encrusted rocks is easy to enjoy. We plan to book the B & B for the 2024 lavender festival once the dates are announced by Sequim organizers. Worth every penny — including the adventure it is to get from Sea-Tac to Sequim via ferry or Interstate. Eager to return to this gorgeous area of the Olympic Peninsula!

Just amazing in every way! The remodeled kitchen should be in a magazine it is so gorgeous. I'm so glad to get to know Clare and her amazing restoration story of this old barn turned into a B&B. The construction is all done and Clare is the sweetess soul you'll ever meet. She goes about and beyond running this majestical place. 5 STARS.

My husband and I carefully researched quiet and romantic inns where we could celebrate our anniversary and were impressed by the positive reviews that Dungeness Barn House had received. Imagine our shock when we arrived and found it to be an active construction zone- something that Clare did not bother to warn us about until the moment we actually arrived. She assured us that it was “just painting” and would not be a bother (as if replacing the smell of sea air with drying paint was in any way acceptable). However, the next morning we awoke to the sound of power saws and other power equipment and the workers’ shouts and the loud country music playing on their radio. NOT the romantic scene we had envisioned. It is unconscionable of a proprietor to accept bookings for a very expensive room knowing and failing to disclose that it was an active construction zone. Thankfully, we were able to book elsewhere and she eventually agreed not to charge us for the time we spent there. Still, the first two days of our planned romantic getaway were utterly ruined by the stressful situation Clare put us in. Of less importance is that the bed was so tall that it was difficult for me- a woman of average height- to climb in to, Ditto the tub.…

For $295/night you can be on Clare Monnin's construction site. You may view a video of what we are enduring here: vimeo.com/759211276 and here: vimeo.com/759211685 Clare offered to try to find another accommodation. But we did not make a reservation for a vacation to move around and to someplace that we had no idea about. This offer amounted to "it's my way or the highway." More basic is the lack of honesty in representing this place to us, evident in Clare's not disclosing this ongoing construction. When we expressed our discomfort on our arrival, she demurred, "but they're only painting." She neglected to mentioned the deafening noise from the power machinery that started at 9 am the following morning. Beware of coming here.

Beautifully adapted barn, gorgeous decor, blooming gardens and humming birds. Peaceful and relaxing, interesting books to read, proprietors are warm but not in your way. We were treated with a nice bottle of wine and cheese after long journey. Breakfast respected season - everything was from their gardens-absolutely delicious! Wish we could have stayed longer.

How we wish we stayed longer! When we saw the location, the gorgeous gardens we ended up checking in earlier and just enjoyed the amazing location and grounds! Our room was simply amazing! Clare and Sue truly have such a wonderful eye for what works here from the gardens, the location and the breakfast was out of this world! Really! Even the wine and pickies were fabulous! Thank you for sharing this amazing Olympic Peninsula location with us Rode Islanders!

These ladies seem to have figured out everything anyone could ask for in a B&B. Fabulous views of the “Spit” and cows from the 2nd floor great room. From our bedroom window, we have a view of their perfectly manicured garden. We kept our window open all night to listen to the sound of the fountain and awoke to the crow of a rooster. Last night, we were treated to wine and snacks. There is a third floor meditation room. Nice touch! Photos don’t do it justice. Much prettier in real life! And there is great attention to detail. I honestly can’t find anything wrong with this place!

We booked a few nights in Dungeness as a quiet spot after a busy city trip and that was exactly what we got! The barn has a lovely communal spot where you can sit and watch the sunset over the ocean. There’s a yoga space at the top of the barn which was great for a bit of peace and tranquility. Clare and Sue were incredibly accommodating. As a Brit I had preconceived ideas about breakfast. What I hadn’t expected was a different breakfast made with fresh ingredients from their garden (and hens!). We definitely will be back!
