My family and I were looking for an out of the way lakeside campground where we could relax by the lake and just take it in. We found Sonora Point Resort online and thought this would be fun, so we booked it. Upon arrival, I thought, this looks like an average campground with average sights, to really nice lakeside sights.... More

We came and looked at the place before we decided to book here (as I've been mislead before) it looked beautiful... Mid July. We booked for the month of August, when we got here on the long weekend it was perfect! Went home for a week to work, came back only to find that the place was a ghost town!... More

Please be advised the website for this "resort" is very misleading. It is an artist rendition of what it may look like in several years - not its current state. We had booked a full 2 weeks and only ended up staying 1, trying to make the most of it. We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday and soon realized... More

First, if you are planning on traveling and staying at Sonora Resort, please be advised that the pictures shown on their website are FALSE. The pictures and amenities shown on their website are a future rendering on what the management HOPES to obtain in the next few years. The current grounds are open and sparce with water and electric hook-ups.... More

We were at Sonora Point about a month ago with another family. The kids loved the fishing, us moms loved the beach. On that particular weekend the manager had organized a potluck dinner with a live band, which we all enjoyed. I will agree that their website is misleading, the home page should show how the resort is set-up now-... More

We stayed there twice this summer and loved it. It is a great quiet place (we slept very well), beautiful, with a warm lake, not very far from Oroville. The people on the campground were very nice and Andrea is a fantastic host. I will go back there again for sure with my two boys (9 and 11 y.o.) and... More

10 days holiday last year included alot of good fishing and water sports. The wharf facilities and fish cleaning station were good. A beautiful place to camp and meet new friends. Will be returning this year.

We have been gathering with family and friends for years here and always have a great time. Our first night there was a live band! My son and his guests have made friends with kids from all over. We boat, ski, wake board, swim, cliff jump and jet ski. My son does some fishing. Our group has an annual softball... More

Great spot to take the family. Very friendly staff that is always accommodating. Kids are kept busy with all the activities: waterskiing, wake boarding, fishing, horseback riding. Weather is always awesome and only 4 1/2 hours from Vancouver. One of the best camping vacations we've ever experienced and we highly recommend it!

There was 10 of us and we shared 4 sites. A very fun filled time, lots to do, water sports, fishing, horseback riding, rodeos, golf and shopping. Even a JC Penny store. A very friendly staff and great owners, one of them is most often on site. Fun time at the campfires. Beach is safe for kids and parents can... More

“There are several sites right on the lake but we chose the far side fence area because there is more grass and you still have view of the water and it is less busy, but on the other hand the lakefront sites are close to the washrooms.”
