Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The property and rooms are okay….a bit worn, especially the bathroom. The checkin front test girls need some customer service training. Maybe both of them are on the spectrum but they should learn to smile and greet guests as they checkin. A blank stare doesn’t work! Maybe have them work in the back office or house keeping where they don’t have to deal with people. Just sayin’. $16 for parking in an open parking lot is steep but a 25% parking tax is LUDICROUS! At $20/nt, I’d stay in downtown. The area is not safe but convenient due to having a mall nearby. If I had to pay for my stays, this property will not be high on my list.

Hotel's Favourite
This is my favorite hotel in the Tukwila/Southcenter area. What makes this property excellent is the wonderful staff. Everyone here is looking out for me. The front desk attendants, the shuttle drivers, the restaurant team, the bartenders -- everyone knows me and remembers my preferences. I don't even have to ask the front desk for the room I favor they already know it. They know when I need to leave for meetings and do everything to get me there on time. Most of the staff has significant tenure at this hotel, sometimes decades and they really seem to like working here. They like the guests, they like being helpful, and they enjoy friendly conversation. This should be the norm when you are a regular at a hotel but it has become increasingly rare, Management here must treat the staff well because they are great ambassadors of the brand. Great job, friends, I'll be back many times.

Won’t ever stay at this property for stay/park and fly again. No point when they have no one available to pick you up and leave you having to get an Uber to go get your car. Place is a dive anyway. Only reason we have done it in the past was for stay/park and fly.

I wish I had some pros about the actual hotel but there’s not much. I would not recommend staying here. We had visited the hotel as we were down for a soccer tournament. The only good thing about this hotel was the location as it was central to restaurants and the soccer field. The cookies at check in are also very delicious. The only staff member we who actually felt like they enjoyed working at the hotel was the gentleman at the breakfast buffet (forgot his name) The hotel itself is very outdated. The bathtub would not drain properly. We had random hairs all over the place. The lamp shades had stains. The pull out coach had a reddish/yellow stain on the sheets and a random hair elastic. I called the front desk and few times but gave up as they didn’t not answer. Overall I felt like I was staying at an old grungy hotel. I would never come back and stay at this property. We came down for a soccer tournament from Canada and there was 11 families in our group. 2 of the families has their cars broken into overnight. We all felt that the hotel did not meet our expectations.

We had 3 rooms here, but could have trimmed it down to 2 if needed be. These rooms are so spacious and comfortable. What I love is the bathroom sink is outside the toilet/shower area. It makes it very convenient for all of us to get ready. The bar downstairs was great, although I only had time for one drink here, and it was off to bed for our 5 am wake up call. I LOVED this hotel!!! I am definitely staying here again, hopefully I'll have more time!

Awful room. Old furniture that is chipping. Looks horrible. The bed is terrible. Extremely hard. Back hurts. Shower head pontes towards wall. Complained at front desk. Their reply, I'll contact housekeeping to check it out. I'll never stay again.

The shuttle drivers were great and the shuttle service was essential to get to and from the airport (and from there to the Link Transit station). However, if your plan is to take the train into Seattle, then stay at one of the hotels next to the transit station itself (Crown Plaza, Hilton Garden, or even the other Double Tree). Better yet, if you're not driving or renting a car, spend the extra money and just stay downtown. The only reason to stay at Southcenter would be free parking (you have to pay at the other Double Tree). The hotel itself is an Embassy Suites without any of the perks--not even a microwave. No guest coffee (they want you to use the on-site Starbucks). No happy hour or breakfast. Otherwise, it's a decent place that's merely showing its age.

It is unfortunate how this hotel has gone so far down hill the last few years. The first night we noticed the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working but it was late at night so we figured we’d call the front desk in the morning. The next morning we tried different settings to see if it would kick on but it started putting out an electrical smell so we called the front desk to see if we could move rooms. We were told no but they’d send someone to look at it. It worked for about 2 hours then quit again. They couldn’t move us rooms. It’s frustrating that this place is still charging top dollar when the rooms are run down, smell like mildew, and they don’t do daily housekeeping service. They have a tiny sign on the mirror that says complementary housekeeping upon request but act like it’s an inconveniences when you ask but they’ll try to squeeze you in. We used to like staying here but not so impressed lately.

Parking is $16.50 per night to stay here. Despite that fee there is NO security in the parking lot at all. We removed all of our belongings and parked in the designated parking lot. My car was tampered with several nights in a row. The final night they threw a piece of concrete through my window. I have over $2000 of damage to my car and the manager at the hotel will not return my calls. I was actually told that the manager would contact me about this. No calls. I was also told by the front desk clerk that I parked in the "less" safe area of the lot. I was also told that another staff member saw that my car had been tampered with the previous night but didn't inform me. He then said "looks like they came back and finished the job" when my window was smashed.

We chose this hotel because it was the closest to the airport with availability to sleep 5. Check in went well, but when we arrived at our room at 4 pm, there was a dirty room service tray in front of the window next to the door. The room was ok. The main issue was the miscommunication regarding the courtesy shuttle. We had a rental car to return and after learning of the shuttle service decided to return the car early to avoid delays the day of the flight. I was told they pick up within a mile of the hotel, and assumed based on our conversation that meant the airport car return. They do not pick up within a mile and only pick up at the courtesy shuttle location in the airport garage.
