You will need to ask the Park Ranger Office. I can’t tell you what the bedding was made of. Sorry.

The passenger cars we saw were made of wood. One had windows and the other was wide open. If I had to guess, I'd say they were not air conditioned, certainly not the open car.

Soot. These trains emit a LOT of black smoke and SOOT. The roofs on the cars shield most of it, but it should be expected.
