One of our State jewels, we enjoyed a delicious lunch. Sat at the gorge side. The waitress took all orders by memory, with modifications. Lodge has a charm which allows us to focus on the beautiful forest, falls, and wildlife..

We stayed at the state park lodge in Canaan Valley, and had such a good experience that we booked a night at blackwater falls lodge. To say "different" doesn't begin to cover it. This place has not been updated in (literally) decades. The mattress was comfortable, the food was good, view fantastic and the staff was superb. And that is...

The lodge was very old,but very clean, people there were nice, the lodge has a great view, you can see deers from your window(we took valley side). Only thing we didn't like is the lodge's restaurant food,we choose to eat fish from the buffet but it was too much salty.I don't know about other things.but salads and dessert was great. Bed was...

We loved staying at this beautiful State park. Other reviewers talked about the accomodations being dated and not like a hotel, and while it is somewhat true, we certainly didn't want hotel accomodations. When you stay at a state park you expect some level of rustic and a setting that blends with the natural environment. We stayed in Cabin 8,...

Overall, we loved our stay, mainly due to the cross country skiing available and warm casual atmosphere. The room was nice enough with a comfortable bed and nice TV. But I wish I had known there would be no coffee maker and no hair dryer supplied for the $115 price. Coffee was provided in the lobby in the mornings, but...

The staff was super friendly. We stayed in room on the canyon side with a king size bed. Huge flat screen tv and comfortable bed. Small room but very clean. Yes the bathroom is kinda outdated. Pink tiles in the bath but that didn't bother us. The only complaint we had was the room was extremely hot when we stayed...

This state park in beautiful any season on the year and definitely worth the visit. The lodge, on the other hand, is in desperate need of a renovation. The facility is very clean and tidy, but for the price, its too expensive for what it is. The rooms are on the same level of any crappy two-star Motel 8, Red...

We stayed in a four bedroom cabin and it was great. Very clean, warm and spacious. Kitchens were well stocked even though we brought some bigger pots since we had 8 people we were cooking for. Internet worked well and parking was no issue. Beautiful place to stay.

This was our first visit to WV. We came to see the fall foliage. This was one of the places my husband found on the internet. Blackwater Falls State Park is beautiful for picture taking, hiking and sightseeing. The lodge is in a beautiful location, very spacious, with a nice restaurant inside that has a huge selection on their menu....

The wood walls do not isolate noise, and you hear the people next door talking, and the old air conditioning motors go on and off all night. There are more high pitch whining of some electric motor. Maybe it's better to stay in the cabins there. The meals are not bad, but do not try their steaks. Never had such...
