Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have just returned from this holiday park after a short break. Stayed in a two bedroom lodge, which was excellent (spacious and well equipped) The park is about 4 miles outside of Barmouth. Weather was mixed but ok. All in all a nice holiday, however one small gripe, being charged a refundable housekeeping charge of £60. Refunded if the accommodation was cleaned and handed back to the 'inspection standard. I go on holiday to relax, not to spend my time cleaning.

We booked this as a Sun Holiday break. We selected the basic standard caravan. Our van was an older model with the inevitable minor niggles. It was spotlessly clean on arrival.Kitchen had all the required utensils to self cater.
Reception welcome was friendly.
The site is very quiet. It's a gentle 10mins stroll to the beach.
We enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this site to other punters.
Thank you.

We arrived at the site on the 9th of Feb and the caravan allocated (316) was surrounded by a lot of mud, which obviously can't be helped as the time of the year. On entering the caravan everything was spotlessly clean. Twice through the holiday the boiler had broke leaving us with no hot water and heating but both times the receptionist was very helpful and got someone to fix it within 10 mins of our call. Personally we thought the fixed seating was extremely uncomfortable and hurt our backs whilst trying to get comfy we do personally believe that a sofa would have been a lot better. As a side note bring your own sofa pillows as they are not provided by the site. Overall the van and the local area was very nice and we would not hesitate to stop again in the future

Absolutely Fantastic week despite mixed weather at Lyons Caerelwan.

Genuinely friendly staff available to help and assist anytime. Carol and Dawn went out of their way to answer any questions and ensure we enjoyed our stay.
The site is quiet and well kept. Only a five minute walk to the beach at Talybont.

Accommodation was very clean, spacious and well appointed (3 bed, Gold pet friendly) bedding, towels, shower gel. Dishwasher, 2 TVs and dvd player if needed and free wifi. Clear instructions for heating and hot water made sure we were warm and cozy when we got in after our daily walks.

Pool and Sauna area was warm, secure and private . Clean every day. (Shower also warm).

Talybont station 3 mins walk for further adventures in Criccieth, Barmouth, Aberdovey and beyond.

The Tilman at Barmouth is fabulous and friendly, as is The Last Inn.

Although no bar/ restaurant on site the Ysgethin is a short 10 min stroll from the site, with cask ale at £2 pint and good pub food.

I cannot recommend this place enough. An amazing base to explore the mid wales coast.

As a family , we have stayed at this site for nearly 30 years, and always had a very positive experience. We loved the fact that it wasn't an all singing, all dancing site, plenty of other places to go for entertainment. This year, we decided to revisit with our daughter and granddaughter. Our caravan was situated right next to the reception building, which also doubled as a residence for the people running the site. On our first night, the family were entertaining friends in their garden, as they've every right to do of course, but the loud shrieking, laughing and playing football continued from about 7pm until nearly 11 pm. Added to this was a constantly yapping ,barking dog. Our 5 year-old little one couldn't sleep, especially when the football was booted repeatedly against their fence and even smacked into the side of our van! At 10:30pm I opened a window overlooking their garden and asked if we could have some quiet, but was totally ignored, and unbelievably, everyone crowded against the fence so that I couldn't see them! My daughter went and stood right next to the fence and also attempted to reason with them but all we heard was childish tittering and shushing noises! Pathetic and very rude behaviour from people in charge of running this place! I complained the next morning and was given a fairly insincere apology, just being told "I'm sorry honey, we had friends over." Most of the rest of the week was OK, until the last evening when once again the children were smacking the ball against the fence, with it coming over and hitting our van again.
Prior to this I would not have hesitated to recommend Parc Caerelwan as a lovely site for people who like a quiet place to stay. Not any more.

Awful park. Tried to downgrade us to a smaller caravan and charge us the same price. Sauna didn't work, steam room didn't work, Wifi didn't work and they made US call the provider to fix it! Literally told ''its nothing to do with us.'' Lorries, diggers, vans and flatbeds going round all hours of the day blocking cars in, impossible to relax. Been coming here for years but wont be again now, awful.

Lots of extras such as tea towels and washing up liquid left, very well equipped!
Lots in the local area, beautiful beach, amusements, bowling and bars and takeaway options all in walking distance!

We’ve been going to this site for 20yrs, and this is the first time we’ve been since Lyon’s took over this, and other sites in Tal-y-Bont. We’ve always enjoyed our holiday here, hence the reason for returning. Unfortunately, our experience this week was dreadful, and we won’t be returning again. On arrival, the caravan we hired had issues. The light fitting in the living area was smashed, the extractor vent was hanging off the ceiling, light bulbs missing , and the batteries were missing from the TV remotes. I went to reception and requested batteries. Later it became apparent that the boiler was not working, back to reception. A staff member came out and it was clear that there was no pressure in the boiler and he had to open the valve to get the thing working. Next morning, no pressure in the boiler and no hot water. Had to put pressure back into the boiler myself just to get the heating on. Back to reception to complain about the lack of hot water. There was a distinct lack of interest and no apology. The staff on reception said that someone would come out to look at it. There was another customer in reception at the same time seemingly complaining about a similar issues. Roll on 2 days later and nobody had been out to see us, so 2 days of cold showers and regretting going to Lyon’s Caerelwan. It’s clear that customer service is seriously lacking here. Obviously no checks had been made to ensure everything was in working order prior to our arrival. A working boiler and hot water is basic welfare. Absolutely dismal and a formal complaint will be made to their head office.

I booked this park on a £9.50 Sun Holiday for myself, husband & daughter, due to work my husband couldn't come so we went on the train which is very easy to get to from Birmingham, the train station is right next to the Park & 5 minute train ride away from Barmouth do check train times though.
We were in a gorgeous platinum lodge It was amazing so much space & so warm we didn't want to leave it. The main bedroom had an ensuite bathroom.
There isn't any entertainment on site but I do believe in season you can use Sunnysands which isn't to far away. No restaurant onsite but there is one not to far away. We did go out of season so did expect a lot of things to be shut didn't stop us enjoying ourselves, there is a beautiful beach not to far away.
We did go into Barmouth a couple of times too.
I do like Lyons parks & can only praise them for their parks.
Do want to return here during the Summer as weather will be better & everything off site will be open.
There is a swimming pool onsite & a pool table I'm sure I seen a soft play area too.

Just got back from staying here and we are definitely gutted to be back home. On Monday when we arrived we was due to have our Tesco shop delivered at 7pm which didn’t arrive. As we had arrived by train we couldn’t go anywhere as there wasn’t any shops open close by. The amazing lady in reception brought us food from her own house, which was so kind and helpful. The park is so lovely, and quiet. Our Caravan was very modern and very clean. I loved the fact that we had cleaning products and a hoover so I could keep it tidy. I would definitely return to this park and would like to say a huge thank you for your kindness and fab stay.

Hi... it's a caravan site . I doubt you could hire a scooter as I haven't seen a shop anywhere nearby. The caravan that i stayed in was suitable with ramp access, wider doors, run flat shower with seat and wet room floor in caravan plus manual pull up handles above the twin beds . The site is on flat road no hills and the area down to the sea is ok but the beach is NOT completely accessible at this site but is in barmouth itself. I really hope this helps
