Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Liked · My second floor inside-access room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Larger room with 2 sinks, mini-fridge, and microwave. 2 bottles of water and a chewy granola bar (free!) were a nice touch! Pretty close to The Fireside Theatre where my son was performing. Was about $20 cheaper than other nearby hotels. Disliked · The parking lot pavement looked a little rough, so first impression wasn’t stellar. Front desk staff was getting ready to leave, had left a note on the phone to call for assistance, so I was glad I showed up when I did, she was very friendly though. Rooms could stand to be updated, a large blanket served as the bedspread, which was a little odd. No outlets near the bed for phone charger, but that’s fairly common with older hotels. No coffee maker! It wasn’t mentioned in the booking info, but I just assumed everywhere but Vegas puts a coffee maker in the room, so that wasn’t great. But as I said, it was clean with a comfy bed, and good water pressure in the shower, so it was good for the price paid.

We stayed here a few years ago and were told the hotel was undergoing updates. It seems to have declined since then. The bathroom above the shower had rusty chipped plaster, the hot water never came on in the sink, a piece of the floor board was disconnected from the baseboard and the bedding was a thin sheet and lightweight, worn comforter. The parking lot was riddled with large holes that diminished curb appeal even more. The heaters in our rooms worked well but had such loud fans it was necessary to turn them off in order to sleep. Nice people working there and yet for $109/night ($120 with taxes) we will pass next time.

I booked River Walk for my boyfriend. I had a few billing issues and the hotel was so kind and quick to resolve the problems. They were extremely great to work with over the phone and for that reason alone, I would recommend this hotel! I love great customer service and they way they dealt with my problem was absolutely perfection. I talked with Denise and then a gentleman that said he had only worked there for a few weeks. Although new, he was very helpful and kind!

Fortunately, I booked two nights before reading some of the comments which shaded my expectations. I was wonderfully surprised. They have done a good job with bath, carpeting, paint, and great service. Yes it’s an older room design and some of the furniture reflects the period the building was built. BUT, it is on the Rock River and walkable to many places. The Fireside Dinner Theater is only 6 minutes away, too. The WiFi works well as does the microwave and refrigerator plus two bottles of water. I’d book here in future visits.

Stayed 4 August for one night. A former Super 8 the old girl is tired. They are trying to fix it up, the lobby was nice. We had to walk around a dumpster to get to the river walk no access from the hotel and then the lawn chairs were in bad shape. The room/bathroom were clean Small newer refrigerator, microwave, TV,and coffeemaker. It was fine but not what I thought it would be, not worth what they charged. You can tell they are trying to fix it up.

This is an old property that is in various stages of disrepair. It was expensive given the property's condition. If you want to be within walking distance of downtown Fort Atkinson, this is your place. Otherwise, stay elsewhere.

The location of this hotel is ideal—right on the Riverwalk and very convenient to walk to downtown shops and restaurants. The rooms are very clean, although the shower head in the bathroom needed some cleaning. Beds are comfortable. However, there are a few things to consider: they do not accept AMEX, you have to call for someone to come to the front desk to check you in and out, there is no breakfast except for complimentary items like muffins only on weekends, there are no memo pads/pens, creamers or sugars available in the room, (nice that there are two waters and granola bars) the coffee maker is tiny, and there are extended stay clients which limits the amount of hotel rooms. Our room seemed freshly painted but there were still obvious areas where things were missing, hooks gone etc. There is a microwave, small refrigerator, and hair dryer in the room and we were lucky enough to have a room right on the river. (Great view!) AC units are plug ins and ours was noisy and leaked during the night, dampening the rug. (We reported it.) Free WiFi and small flat screen TVs. Off street parking.

I recently was in Fort Atkinson for business and stumbled upon this great hotel by chance. I try and avoid the chain properties and look for unique independent businesses to support. This hotel was exactly what I was looking for. First of all it was downtown, walking distance to all local bars, restaurants and shops. It was right along the river with a great view, and there is a walking path that begins right behind the hotel and you can follow the path through the whole downtown. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel interior was recently upgraded and looks like whoever owns the place is trying really hard to bring this 40 year old hotel up to current hotel standards. This will be my hotel of choice when I return for work.

We came with a large group for New Years Eve. We got in about 4pm. We entered the room and it was 49 in the room. Good thing we did not need to shower before we dressed for the evening. The rooms were old looking and not clean at all. We set the heat to 80 but by the time we left for the evening it was still only 55 in the room. Everyone in our group had the same experience. None of the halls were heated as well. I can understand conserving energy, but when you know the rooms are booked, maybe warming the rooms up to an acceptable level might be wise. I also did not like that if you booked through their website you paid one amount, but if you called and reserved you paid another much higher amount. There is nobody in out group who would stay at this hotel again. It is worth the little extra to go somewhere else. Even the lobby was only 54 inside. We all hung out after our outing to spend more time together. We never took our coats off. I wish there were negative stars.

Spent the night here and it was a fantastic place for ys. Wedding two buildings down at the Fort house walking distance parking, comfortable rooms, quiet, and they were very accommodating to our groups needs several rooms were utilized and no one had a bad thing to say. Great, unexpected river view. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in this area.
