Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our first venture away from home since shielding/lockdown. My partner & I were joined by my daughter’s family. The lodge we stayed in was large enough to maintain reasonable social distancing. It could have done with a bit of updating. Dark wood panels on the walls & ceiling in the open plan kitchen/living area made it rather oppressive. The large bathroom/toilet was adequate but the light/fan woke the whole household if used at night. The lodge inside was very clean. Outside the windows were dirty & at the edge of the patio there was a large collection of cig ends. Not very pleasant when combined with the vast amount of goose poop that was everywhere! Not sure what can be done about the poop but the cig ends could be cleared & an outside recepticle should be provided.

The weather was grim when we were there but the grounds & lakes were lovely to walk around (minding the poop!) We had a wander round Sleaford, which is about 15 mins away, with lots of eateries. One evening we had dinner at Woodys - Ok - but nothing to write home about in terms of food, the staff were helpful & attentive.

All in all it was a mediocre experience given the cost - over £600 for 3 nights.

Arrived on a Friday evening to check in . A very easy process . The site is very well presented . Pitches a little close together but we are used to small sites . We booked this site because our family live close by and we new they had a restaurant & bar on site where we could meet up . Had a few drinks Friday evening surroundings were beautiful sunset amazing . Drinks & food a little expensive but you can expect that on a campsite . Went fishing all day Saturday never had a bite on 2 different lakes but that’s fishing for you . On Sunday we met up with my family who live close by all 11 of us . We booked 2 tables in the restaurant and chose different choices . All in all the food was very poor £17 for a roast beef dinner which was very average I chose fish & chips at £11.95 the meal was very poor I have eaten at Wetherspoons and paid half the price and it tasted much better . All 11 of us said the food was well below standard and very overpriced. We travel to a lot of different sites in our Motorhome a d don’t ever expect to much but the service & food in this restaurant was well below standard . The staff were very inattentive and felt like they were doing you a favour . Summing this weekend up a lovely site forget the Bar & Restaurant whoever manages this part of the business needs to have a look at the whole dining experience. I would use the park again but Woody’s bar a shambles . I very rarely write reviews that are negative but after taking over £200 pounds from us for the worst Sunday lunch I have probably had I feel it’s justified.

We stayed here as a family of 4. Easy to find, good checkin procedure, friendly and helpful. We stayed in Birch Lodge which is a dog friendly cabin, the place was spotless and you would never have been able to tell it was dog friendly as there was no signs of pets being in there or any smell that people might think you’d get. Everything was as it was pictured and described on the website.
The hot tub was excellent, very well maintained and super clean.
Dogs need to be on lease around the site and the lakes which is fair enough but there are some woods which I took them to where you can let them run around off lead.

Booked a two night stay here while attending a friend’s birthday, We paid £180 for two nights in a cabin room. I would recommend anyone doing the same to take a few essentials with them ie, a folding chair would be very handy as the double room we had was completely devoid of any furniture except the bed and one small armchair, so suitcases had to go on the floor, there is a small closet type space for hanging clothes and a small adjourning worktop with a mirror and coffee & tea making facility that doubles up as a dressing table, unfortunately for us this was overrun with ants! On the plus side there is a large shower room with a good rain shower but again nowhere to hang/ put anything apart from on the toilet top or in the sink.
One other thing any ladies staying here might want to take is a hairdryer not one in the room, if for no other reason than to blow the ants away!
Definitely be booking a travel lodge if we’re in the area again!

VERY well kept site, with good facilities, great scenery, & friendly staff. Regularly saw grounds keepers at work, which would explain why this site looks so stunning. Toilet blocks were fully functional & clean. Plenty of walking opportunities, in a great setting. Good clubhouse on site (Woody's), with excellent food. The lady who took bookings for lunch was really nice, & let us change our booking at the last minute from the standard pub menu to the Sunday carvery (as we couldn't resist after we could smell it). Sunday lunch set us back about £15 each, & it was worth it as the food was excellent. For those who could eat another course or two, there are offers available. Drinks a little bit pricey (£19 for 2 beers & 2 ciders), but not stupid. Great atmosphere on site, lead to a very relaxing stay. Would absolutely recommend

My partner and I arrived on Friday around 5 o’clock, we was seen straight away and was given the keys plus a map from a very nice lady at reception.

The first look at the cabin, it was lovely. Very big with a medium sized hot tub. 2 rooms, one double and one twin. The double room had an en-suite with a shower and another bathroom with a bath/shower. Lovely dining/ living area with the kitchen.

My standard for cleaning is very high as I’ve been a cleaner in most jobs I have done. unfortunately the cleaning wasn’t as high of a standard here as I would have hoped. The skirting boards were dusty, the shower screen had a little limescale, the bath had a few hairs around it, there was also pubes in the main toilet and the radiators in the bathrooms weren’t polished. There were some stains on the dining table, I will excuse that as the surface is hard to get rid of stains. There were a few marks on the walls and the golden handles on the doors weren’t polished either.

My partner does the cooking in our house so we had a meal everyday in the restaurant as he wanted a break from the stove. We were very surprised with how lovely the food is there. We had most things off the menu and each time we came out of the restaurant full, satisfied and happy. The service there is great, the waitresses/waiters are very friendly the standard of cleaning there is good. The last meal we had was the steak, I couldn’t recommend this enough it was cooked to perfection and the sauce, chips and onion rings are to die for.

In conclusion, we have decided to come here each year for a couple of days to get away from our daily life. It is a lovely place, with a scenic view of the lake. Close to little villages but not too close for all the noise.

We were 6 adults sharing a lakeview lodge and could not fault anything about our stay. We had one man fishing on the lakes and he thoroughly enjoyed them. We ate at Woodys bar which was friendly and had good food. As I said before there really was nothing to find fault with and we will be back.

From arriving we weren’t impressed the customer service from the member of staff at reception to one serving in the bar. Certainly put us off it seems if you’re a regular or permanent resident you get preferential treatment.
The lake was nice with the ducks and geese,
but this is a large site and certainly one that we won’t be visiting again for that reason.

Just returned from a six night stay and we really enjoyed our stay.
Our pitch was in a great position overlooking the main lake, although at first I was a little concerned about being woken by early morning fishermen, but I didn’t need to worry.
The Wi-Fi was pretty good but unfortunately the electricity tripped about a dozen times during the stay, which was a bit annoying. But it didn’t detract to much from our stay.
I would definitely recommend visiting this site..

This site is good for us as not too far from home, but i think i will avoid bank holidays in future. The site states lots of rules when booking but no one seems to enforce them. We had a family near us with 3 dogs that barked at anything that moved, they played loud music all day and late into the night, and 2 teenagers wizzing around dangerously even in the dark on an electric bike. Other families had camp fires, again clearly stated against the rules. Don't want to be a killjoy but if you have rules, enforce them Wardens passed by several times but they were not asked to stop any of their activities. People said they had reported it.

Dogs have to be kept on leads at camp site and not sure where you can go locally but plenty of woodland places not too far away.
