The facility was great. Rustic cabins, great food, a ton of activities. Very well organized. Everybody was so friendly. We did a morning ride and an evening ride, great views! Weather was great, warm during the day and cool at night. Kids never got bored.

The last week of August 2017 was my second stay at the HF Bar Ranch. As was the first visit, our time there was awesome. The mainstay of offering is the guest service experienced there. Awesome food, super good dining rock star (chefs, cooks and hashers) and the best wrangling staff facilitating the daily riding. The wrangling staff makes sure you experience the type of riding you want and numerous stellar locations both day and evening riding. The cabins are quaint, decorated with antiques and very comfortable. The deliver ice to you outside classic style Ice box everyday. This is the kind of place that you must experience. If you looking for plush accommodations, spas, wi-fi extravaganzas, TV entertainment, this is not the place. If you are looking for quiet, clear sky star gazing, great cabins, classic ambiance, awesome horses and awesome riding to match, this is the place! Must do rides are Monument Rock and Gingers meadow!. Make sure you meet Margie, the owner and experience their new bar! HF Bar is a bucket list Guest Ranch! It is a photographers dream. Horse roundups occur twice a day, sunrises are stellar. Abundance of Mule and white tail deer. We probably saw 300 antelope.

Stayed here with our family of four, including 7 year old twins. An all-around amazing experience. We had never been to a dude ranch. We rode horses every day (we were beginners) in the gorgeous Big Horn Mountains. Ate good food. Relaxed in our very roomy cabin overlooking a stream. And my son would tell you his favorite part of the whole vacation was shooting a gun -- skeet shooting and he even hit a couple. Can't recommend this place enough.

HF Bar offers a superb experience for families and those who want a quality getaway. There are many different activities on offer - horseback riding, fishing, biking, swimming and skeet shooting. Excellent and knowledgeable guides take you fishing and skeet shooting. What we like about it is that the scenery is gorgeous and the cabins are rustic but clean, featuring fireplaces and hummingbird feeders. You can order many kinds of liquor, beer and wine and the dining room offers good food. A lot of activities for little kids and babysitters are available. Staff very friendly and eager to give you what you want. We're back for the second year and intend to come back next year as well.

Title tells all. A beautiful ranch with more than 200 horses, a staff that makes every conceivable effort to get to know you, congenial guests, comfortable beds in rustic cabins with huge fireplaces, an unending supply of firewood, gourmet food in a western setting. We loved every minute on the ranch. Great place to take it easy, do whatever you want to do, from riding through the magnificent scenery to sitting on Three Rocks and watching the world go by. Sheer heaven.

My husband and I stayed at the ranch last week and loved every second of it. In some ways it is like stepping back in time to rustic western days. Our cabin was updated and clean sitting next the the stream running through the ranch. Very relaxing and all stress of everyday life just disappeared. Food was very good. We were greeted by the Hasher each meal. Food was served hot and was delicious!! I even ate duck, which I would never have ordered at home and I loved it. Staff was very welcoming and made sure we met others at the ranch. I had been to the ranch when I was a little girl and had great memories and coming back again was wonderful. I was a little concerned I might be disappointed because of my great memories and it lived up to all my expectations. I highly recommend the HF Bar Ranch to anyone.

I went on a family reunion trip to HF Bar Ranch. Our ages were between 4 and 73. There was plenty to do for everyone and lots of places to lounge around and do absolutely nothing. The views are spectacular, the service is great, and the HF Bar really provides a place to unplug and relax. We were told on our last day that each visit is more fun because you know what to expect, see familiar faces, and settle in quicker. I can see that and wouldn't mind going back again, like most of the visitors do each year.

Our thirteen member family spent a week playing, communicating and relaxing at the ranch. We have been to another dude ranch and therefore have some basis of comparison. This ranch is children friendly with riding schedules that fit everyone's ability. Normal rides are scheduled in the mornings and evenings, leaving the afternoon open. Non riding activities include fly fishing, skeet shooting, hiking, mountain biking and a kids camp for the little ones. The scenery, on the eastern edge of the Bighorn National Forest, is spectacular. Three meals a day are included and we found the food satisfactory. We had three vegetarian members of our group and they occasionally had difficulty finding meal options. I am told that on a normal week 75% of the guests are returning from previous visits. And many of the ranch hands had visited as children with their families. So, visiting is like joining a happy family. Service of all kinds was friendly and outstanding. Accommodations are rustic and in need of some repair. Each of the three cabins that we occupied needed new mattresses. In some cases, the beds had no box springs. On the other hand, we all slept well, probably because we were worn out from all the riding and other activities. The HF Bar is certainly worthy of a return visit.

Went once back in the 80's and loved it so much I have been back EVERY YEAR since and will be there again in 2016!! Talk about class, THE ROADKILL RANGERS, got to love that name, are the reason I am back EVERY year. Love that band with two original members from the 80's. Jon on guitar and Ron on drums. Today they are mostly a four piece whit two newer members Cindy on bass and the newest Cody on rhythm guitar, Jon's brother. Fun fun fun band. I want their CD and new shirts!!! The cabins are very nice and clean the food is very good, rides and views are amazing with an awesome leadership and staff. Keep it up HR Bar and THE ROADKILL RANGERS !!! Plan a trip and maybe I'll see ya there. I know you will love it as we do.

After arriving back home to the city, hearing the honking horns and seeing the aggressive driving I dream of my return to HF Bar Ranch. My adventure was short but incredibly relaxing and fun filled. My cabin was clean and well appointed. The cabin girls did a great job each day and even turned on the electric bed warmers in the evening when my bed was turned down, making it warm and toasty by the time I climbed in. Ice was delivered daily by horse drawn wagon for my ice box. The meals were hearty and well prepared. The day started with bowls of fresh berries, hot or cold cereal and then my choice of the daily special, eggs to order, pancakes, or french toast. Lunches were either cookouts, picnics, or or an amazing quiche with caramelized onions and smoked bacon. Dinners included beef tenderloin, fresh trout, crisp green beans, tasty salads, and homemade tarts piled high with fresh blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. All the meals included whole grain breads or fresh baked zucchini bread. What can I say about the riding? It was awesome. I've been riding all my life and had my own horse until 2 years ago, so I had some concerns that I would end up with a horse that was slow and would just want to walk in a line with the other horses. The wranglers did a great job and chose a horse that was appropriate for my skill level. He had a great personality, was a bit feisty, and had a great pace. We rode across pastures, through pine forests, and along the ridges, crossing creeks along the way. Wednesday night is the weekly dance with a live band and a keg of beer. It was something straight out of the movies with a barbed wire chandelier, old hardwood floors and everyone dancing the two-step. Although I didn't swim, a heated pool was there as an option and evenings were spent with cocktails on the wrap around porch or sitting by the outdoor firepit. Each person I met was friendly, helpful and very professional. They did everything within their power to make me feel at home, like It was my own ranch, and pampered at the same time. I love HF Bar Ranch and now plan to return in September when visitors have died down and the Aspens start to change color.
