Arnott lodge is a great place to stay where you can get out and see the whole island easily. Staff are knowledgeable about current events and things to do and very helpful in planning a day out. The tours on offer are a good start to seeing the attractions. The lodge is a quiet

This was our third time staying. Upgraded door locks with a swipe of card. The A/C worked great, just read the instructions. Great place to stay, fair prices. Not a resort place but great for those who just want a place for suitcase and a bed for good night sleep. Tree frogs

Aloha, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are excited to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that the amenities were to your liking. The tree frogs are quite a chorus indeed and we are certainly a "No Frills" lodge. In that way we try to keep it economical for travelers on all budgets. We hope you join us again and take advantage of one of our tours which are offered at a discount for guests who lodge with us. Mahalo,

My friend and I stayed at this hostel and enjoyed the friendly, welcoming atmosphere, a private room and communal recreation space where we joined other guests for an evening movie. The kitchen was well equipped with anything one might need to create a meal.

We were on a cruise excursion to Hawaii Jan 12 - 26 2019. In November I started to look into cruise excursions. Since we were only on one shore excursion during our entire two week Hawaii trip, I struggled with which one it would be between the Land of Frozen Fire tour offered

Aloha Sam, Thank you for taking time out to share your experience with us. We appreciate your partnership with Carnival and for booking your Frozen Fire Tour with us. Donna is indeed one of our best tour guides and I know she will be excited to hear how much you enjoyed her tour. The devastating events of Hawaii's May 2018 Eruption seems to have faded from the media but, brings in a different perspective when meeting people personally affected by the eruption and forced out of the home they have spent years to build. 700 homes were lost and those displaced families are still recovering. We are fortunate to have an exclusive partnership to provide our guests with a in depth personalized experience with one of these homeowners. We are so glad you were able to join us on your Big Island Adventure and are glad to know you did not feel rushed. We take pride in our Tours, Lodge and Staff and hope to see you on your next Adventure. Mahalo,

I was thrilled to discover we would go to the Japanese garden, drive through Banyon Drive, and especially visit the macadamia nut processing center in addition to the lava fields! Driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were provided water and a snack. There were plenty

Aloha Rahul, Are you landing in Hilo or Kona? We are located in Hilo. You may travel by taking our tours: Mauna Kea, Volcano National Park and Valleys and Waterfall Tour. We also provide private tours. We also have bikes you can rent and there's also the public bus. Ask us for bus schedules at our front desk. I would suggest Mauna Kea and Volcano National Park tour. Let us know if you have any other questions. Mahalo, Arnott's Lodge & Hiking Adventures

Highly recommend botanical gardens and volcano. My top 2 favorites when in on the big Island. Followed by snorkeling and swimming at hapuna beach near kona.I didn't get to snorkel at hilo, but heard some parts are nice. The sunrise on the beach is magical too. Arnott is so close, walking distance to much of the good stuff!

Yes, you would need to fly from Hilo to Honolulu or Kona to Honolulu for your flight to Australia. We have 2 airports on the Big Island. The airport closer to us Hilo. Hope this helps.

We're more of a hostel. We are a traveler's lodge so proof of an outward bound air ticket or travel itinerary will be requested upon check in.

Thank you for your question. The reference to street locals was directed at downtown Hilo which is 3 miles from Arnott's Lodge. The warning which they received probably referred to those who might visit a restaurant or bar and come out late. This is true in almost any town and Hilo downtown has no more or less "undesirables" than any other city in the world. No matter where you travel to you should always be aware of your surroundings and not leave valuables in your car.
