Staying at Kalaekilohana was lovely . The house was so beautiful and Kilohana and Kenny were amazing hosts. They really made our visit extraordinary. The food was very fresh and healthy. We can't wait to come back. The location in Naalehu was great for seeing different parts of the island . The weather was ideal - typically low 60's.

I stayed 4 nights at the inn while visiting a wilderness camp nearby. The hosts Kenny and Kilohana are so kind and welcoming. My room was spacious and the bathroom was perfect. Breakfast is the best! I had 2 optional dinners which were well thought out and so good. There is always the option to socialize with other guests and...

This inn is very comfortable with very gracious hosts. The rooms were very comfortable with showers that comfortable accommodated my 6'5" family members. Kenny's meals were delicious and creative. It makes a great base for exploring Volcano National Park, allowing me to enjoy sunset there one evening and sunrise another day. Evenings spent chatting on the porch and enjoying wine...

Glad the shower got some love. With both of us being above average in height, we made a point of having a spacious walk-in with overhead showers that could accommodate taller guests. We realized from the onset that our decision to eschew television would limit our appeal to families with smaller children and for the last several years we have...

My husband and I travel extensively and prefer to stay at small boutique hotels. This was our first trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. We stayed for three nights at the Kalaekilohana and it was exceptional! The location was ideal for many different day trips. The setting was quiet and beautiful. Our room was extremely comfortable and very well...

Thanks for your very generous comments. Since we travel a fair amount ourselves, we always appreciate it when our experienced explorers mention the amenities we love the most when we are on the road. Thanks also for mentioning our location. We believed from the beginning that our location is actually wonderful for seeing the southern half of the island. Our...

We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful inn. The building is beautifully designed and situated. It has large comfortable rooms that are furnished with both appearance and function in mind. There are ample places to sit and to put things. The bathroom is gorgeous and has a large walk in shower with overhead shower head. There are places to put...

We couldn't help but think of how our amenities match the things we look for when we travel. Thank you pointing out so many. Having a washer dryer available on the guest floor may have been one of the best things we did when we were designing the inn. With more and more folks traveling lighter, it's something a lot...

My wife and I along with her brother enjoyed the Avocado and Green Sea Suites which were both magnificent. The location is quiet but accessible and close to the Volcano Parks and South Point. The hosts, food, service and recommendations were outstanding. We most enjoyed the unique and delicious breakfasts followed closely by "wine on the porch".

From arrival at the Kalaekilohana Inn, we felt as comfortable as in our own house. Extremely clean, good wi-fi signal, large and well-appointed rooms, one of the best hotel bathrooms ever. But this is not all. There is Kenny and Kilohana, the owners, who excel in the effort to make your stay as relaxing as possible and also giving ideas...

It was great having you with us all the way from Rio. Mahalo nui for your kind thoughts and for calling attention to the excellent efforts of our room manager Vee in providing a clean, well presented room. We're very grateful for everything she does. It's also great to see Rusty Junior, our trusty refrigerator, get some recognition. He plays...

We're grateful for your kind thoughts. We have worked hard to develop the full-service approach that sets us apart from the rest. As we enter our 12th year, we're reminded how important our guests comments have been in helping us to be better at what we do. We appreciate the high praise.

We stayed four overnights in October last year. We were heartily greeted by the innkeepers Kilohana and Kenny. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Kalaekilohana right from the moment we arrived. We had many memorable moments but we particularly liked spending time with Kilohana and Kenny and other guests relaxing on the lanai after dinner, going over the day’s events and...

Mahalo nui for your wonderful gastronomic compliments. We locally source as much as we are able and we work hard to stay connected to the food we eat and share. Thanks for noting our focus on balanced and healthy meals. We're big on whole grains and fresh locally sourced fruits and vegetables at breakfast and dinner. When we are rewarded...
