Located in a rainforest-like garden, this B&B in Volcano Village offers anything you desire. Its Queen room is furnished lovely, comfortable with separate access from the outside. Due to the calm neighborhood, one can just relax and enjoy. Joan, the friendly and most likable host, serves a vast, fresh 'no-lunch-breakfast'. Just a two-minutes-drive from restaurants in Volcano Village and about...

We stayed in the Queen room, which at the back of the main house, and facing the tropical forest. There was plenty of rain ( I think there is alway pretty much rain) and the temperature was approx. 24 Celsius, compared with the usual 30 everywhere else. This was a great break for us north europeans who suffered a lot...

We had a incredible good week on Big Island Hawaii at the Country Goose Bed and breakfast. We had the king bed bedroom that was just perfect fot the both of us. We mostly liked the excellent and generous home made breakfast made by our incredible good host: Joan! We will miss talking with her in the morning and her...

Four adults lodged overnight at the Anuhea Cottage, a two bedroom house. We arrived in the late evening. and picked up our keys from the manager, then, easily found the home, which was equipped with a security system. We made use of the nice washer and dryer located in the garage, and took showers after our dusty trip to the...

My husband, son and I stayed 3 nights in the Paniolo Cottage. Upon arrival Joan was very friendly and helpful giving directions to the cottage. The cottage was very quaint and perfect for our needs. We spent the bulk of our stay traveling across the island and would return to the cottage late in the evening. The location was perfect......

We stayed in Hale Volcano Cottage for three nights, May 2015. Joan, a delightful woman who has lived in the area for many years, manages several cottages for their owners, and hosts all the guests at her home each morning for breakfast. As I understand it, the cottages are spread around town, maybe six or eight miles from Joan’s home....

The first time we stayed, two couples and mom, was at the house on Pukawea St. A 3 bed 2 bath modern home. Super clean and well equipped. Very close to the Volcano National Park entrance. We only stayed one night. One could easily stay several and explore the many things to do in the area. I must mention, Joan...

In the middle of the rainforest we had a spacious, clean and nicely decorated cottage for two nights. Breakfast was nearby at the main house and was delicious. Joan was very friendly and helpful. There is nothing negative to mention. Absolutely recommendable!

My family of four and I really enjoyed our stay in the Anuhea House at The Country Goose. It's a short walk from the main house/B&B, clean and super private. Proprietor Joan's hospitality is warm and welcoming, and her breakfast was a delicious treat, like having a home cooked meal. The kids tore into the fruit-topped waffles with home made...

Really enjoyed our stay in Volcano and getting to know Joan over breakfast. We booked through B & B Hawaii and were very happy with our volcano cottage that was up by the golf course. So nice to have a whole house even if it was just for two of us. Joan, you are our kind of people!

“It is a bit difficult to navigate the route between Hilo & Volcano in the dark. The street signs are at best hard to see ( if indeed they weren't missing) and many names are similar in sound & spelling. Our GPS wasn't any help, having lost it's satellite connex. Once you find your way, it's easier if you've paid attention!”
