We were a bit concerned when we booked that the resort was six miles from the coast and 45 minutes north of Kona (and we are not golfers). We were pleasantly surprised that the peaceful nature of the location was perfect for our needs/wants. We are not into night life, golf or

Great for folks wanting total relaxation. You definitely need a car to get around to the sea coast, or if you are minimalist and are able to bike, then you are gold. There’s no restaurant on the grounds, so you have no other choice but to go grocery shopping during your stay.

We had a 2 bedroom for 6 people. It was tight but it worked. One bedroom had a king bed and a bathroom. Other bedroom just had a queen bed. There was an additional bathroom for all to share. Bedrooms and bath are all upstairs. The grounds are very nice, on a golf course. Weather

Love it here, away from Kona, close to beaches no need for air conditioning, great place but a car is required if you plan to do any trips. Can't wait to return next year. Staff is what makes this resort special, although Wyndham can't seem to retain good people...sad

I stayed in Building K first floor, and it does face the ocean. First floor barely sees the ocean. You must be on the top floor to see ocean for most part, as there are trees to look over. Sounds like you have been there before? As for renovation, I don't know what was there before but our unit was clean and serviceable, not fancy, but in good shape. Hope that helps.

Same as the others that have answered, we didn't have any additional fees beyond what we paid from our booking.

None that I know of. With so much to drive to for sight seeing, I would recommend a rental car. There are many rental companies at the Kona airport

We stayed in I-104 which was a ground floor 2 bedroom unit. I couldn't say for sure it was an updated unit, but it was very nice. No damaged furniture, walls, or flooring. Had a flat screen 40-42 inch tv. The counters were not granite. The electric range and full size refrigerator were not that old, maybe a couple of years old. The beds were clean and comfortable. Loads of cabinet space. Always quiet at night. It's a great place in my opinion. I could live there.
