This is our third stay at Pono Kai, and we love it! The location is unbeatable, and has one of the few swimmable beaches on the Kapaa side. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of amentities. There is a wide range of units and when you rent through the office, I gather from other reviews that you can get a...

When we arrived we were greeted by very pleasant staff. Our room was ready earlier than we thought, which was nice. We were in building F, third floor. Had a nice ocean view. Pluses: Pleasant staff. Elevators! Big plus. Ocean view. Comfortable bed. A/C in living room. Worked well. Quiet. Fully stocked kitchen. Clean and no odors. Location convenient to...

I was very concerned with some of the reviews I had read, but I didn't need to be! We were in Bldg F and could see the ocean from our room. You can see the ocean from Bldgs A, B, C, D, F and G, with A-D being a little closer to the ocean. We saw some beautiful sunrises and...

As a Bluegreen owner, I was pretty disappointed in our room at Pono Kai. So much so, that we almost checked out upon arrival. Check-in was fast and friendly, but we were not happy once we entered our room. The damp, musty odor was horrendous and the unit was very dated. Those two things combined just made everything seem dirty...

We traded our timeshare on the mainland for this place. Glad we did. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Towels, soap, etc were changed out every other day. Beautiful koi ponds, beach walk, and renovated buildings. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was because it was the first timeshare we've had to pay for using the washing...

Best location on Kauai. Right on the ocean with a 6 mile bike path adjoining the property. Great restaurants within walking distance. Tennis, Bocce Ball, swimming pool, hot tub, volley ball, croquet, etc. all on the property.

We arrived at about 5p.m. and checked in with no delay. Clean and well equipped suite. We were in a 1 bedroom apartment in the E building. The grounds are mature and the resort is located on the ocean. We had a partial ocean view. Nice pool area. We attended their activities introduction and we won the 2 for 1...

Pono Kai Resort is ideally located and is right on an excellent beach and a few minutes walk to town. The property has a large pool and hot tub and offers free use of bocci ball, croquet, putting green, and tennis. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and a concierge is located in the lobby to help with booking...

We really enjoyed this resort. It was a very quiet and relaxing place. There didn't seem to be many young, rowdy people; mostly older couples and families. We had a one bedroom unit and were very pleased with our accommodations. They did a major cleaning only once throughout the week but came to refresh the towels a few times. The...

The buildings need an update. Unit smelled like stale air conditioning. Location is fantastic for kids - waves are manageable at the beach right out front, the bike path and amazing sunrises. Easy Walking distance to kapa'a pool and hot tub were not amazing, but fine for small kids. With major update, it would be a fantastic place.
