This was our first B&B and it was a terrific introduction. The property is just a few blocks from downtown and the harbor and is owned by a truly welcoming host. Rooms are spotless and comfortable with private baths that have a genuine country feel. Afternoon wine and cheese is a nice touch and you'll have a chance to meet...

There are quite a few hotels and B&B's in the Bar Harbor area, making it difficult to choose where to stay. After reviewing a number of hotels, I picked this one, and I'm really glad I did! The Inn itself is lovely, the room was very sweet, a beautiful breakfast was served in a bright solarium surrounded by flowers, and...

We had two couples and both loved our 3 night stay. The property is beautifully landscaped, the host very helpful with history info and dinner recommendations. Loved the location just two blocks from Downtown Bar Harbor. Loved our room, decorated very nicely and very peacefull. Just wished we had another day. Breakfast was great, fresh fruit and french toast etc....

Great Staff & Location 5/5! The decor was Very interesting to say the least. It resembles the 1800s. No mirror in front of sink. The Breakfast was served at a Strict 8:30am-9:30am... They might as well have a bell... Tho the food was very delicious 👍🏼 Good value overall.

We recently spent two nights at this B and B and had a great stay. We loved that you could easily walk downtown to restaurants and shops and it is very close to Acadia. The inn was very clean and quiet and the breakfast was delicious. Bob was very nice, lent us a CD to use on our first trip...

Hosts are personable, breakfasts very good and rooms match the style of the house. Beds are nice rooms have a formal but comfy feel. If it fits your budget (it's competitive for type and location) I would certainly recommend this place. I'm pretty picky :) NB: photo is just the fireplace mantel in our room.

Tired-looking, 2nd-floor room w/ balcony. Warm 80+ day & no a/c (told a/c turned off for season; what comprises "season" should be specified on the website); opening window/balcony door in the cooler evening wasn't an option because of street/pedestrian traffic, so not a very comfortable indoor stay. Check in w/ Kathy was pleasant, as was the white wine/snack available at...

One of the best bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed in. We felt the decor was in keeping with the feel of the building. Breakfast was superb each morning. Large portions and yummy. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast. It is close to the main downtown with out being in the busy part. Sitting on the front...

Our vacation this year was a car trip up the coast of Maine. Our target was Bar Harbor and we spent two days in a whirlwind of touristry (is that a word?), including a boat cruise and bus tour of Acadia national park. We had a ball but found our accomadations at the White Columns just the right way to...

We discovered bed and breakfasts as an alternative to hotel travel almost by accident. Typically, we find the atmosphere friendly and welcoming, the properties cleaner, the clientele quieter, and the stay generally more relaxed. Anne's White Column Inn was very convenient to downtown Bar Harbor, an easy walk to the mad circus of people and everything that Bar Harbor has...
