Great location, a hidden gem. Don't let the shop front put you off, once you enter thru the side door you find an old world charm. The guys that operate the property are helpful and know what they are doing. The rooms are good and the breakfast s fantastic. I Highly recommend.

INNKEEPER’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 24 August 2016 via mobile

The best little guest house in the city by far. Wonderful staff and comfortable clean rooms with great breakfast, all for a really reasonable price . Centrally based on 14th near Castro and the old Mint building . A short tram ride down market to the wharves. You won't be disappointed . Anything u need- just ask the staff. They... More

I stayed here for 5 nights when I was in San Francisco in October 2016. It doesn't look like much from the outside and it was quite hard to find but what a find it was. The room was small and comfortable with everything I could want. It was very hot in the city that time of year and the... More

The guest house doesn't look much from the outside, but the inside is lovely and the staff are very friendly. We liked the way breakfast was served with lots of fruit and bread laid out in the kitchen which you could put on a tray and take back to your room or eat in the kitchen if you fancied a... More

The Willow Inn is located just a block away from the Church St Muni station, which makes it extremely convenient for getting just about anywhere in the city. The Inn itself is comfortable, quaint, and pleasant and the staff is very friendly. Be aware that the bathrooms are all shared but there is never a wait. The breakfast spread was... More

We enjoyed our stay in September very much. Excellent service, very clean and tidy, a very familiar atmosphere, nice breakfast. Good starting point for all events you want to do in Frisco. The tram stops only few steps from the accommodation. Not negative, but to say, you haven´t your own bath and restroom - you have to share it with... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was amazing. Between the comfortable rooms, the friendly staff, the great location, and the reasonable price, I cannot say enough great things about the Willows. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with a suggestion on where to go or what to do. Their dining recommendations were always on point. Different... More

3 of us got there straight out of Burning Man, with tons of dust and bikes. The guys didn't even flinch. Incredible service all the way through, got everything we needed and more. Super clean, very well located, amazing breakfast, right on the BART station, close to Castro and the Mission, great amenities, very affordable. We had an amazing time,... More

Very well located in San Francisco, near to bus stop and underground station, the Willows Inn is a quiet place to stay next to Castro and Mission. Several restaurants are nearby and it's not too far from SFO international. The bed and breakfast has very charming rooms, wide and clear, but not all of them. I stayed in a family... More

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
