We stayed here for five nights in December. The good thing is that you can walk to Fisherman's Wharf in about twenty minutes. The hotel itself is an old converted apartment building which is in dire need of a refreshment. The carpets are quite dirty and the paint is peeling in the bathrooms. The showers are too short and lack...

Rooms are generally ok, old but clean. However, very loud as sound insulation is non-existent. Rooms are advertised as "Breakfast included" which is a joke... Price is incredibly high, but this is unfortunately common in SF. Best thing about this hotel is the location, good neighbourhood and in walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and Marina.

We stayed here with high expectations but unfortunately the hotel room was very dated and didn't even have air con. Thankfully it wasn't a massive issue as the weather was quite cold. The fixers and fittings were dated but did their job. Also the shower was tiny so I had to squat to get under the water. The location was...

Location was great, very close to the Fisherman Wharf and Pier 39, close to restaurants, stores, etc. Breakfast is simple but is complimentary, also complimentary wi-fi. Hotel is clean, a bit old, but with everything San Francisco have to offer, you wont spend a long time in the hotel, at least I didn't.

Beds were very soft. But everything clean. The shower was like having a camp shower. No pressure, low hanging head. Otherwise I can't complain. We weren't in the room for long other than sleeping, & the location is quiet, close enough to cafés, restaurants etc but far enough away from the bustle. I give it a great if you're on...

I had my wallet containing $700 stolen from my room. We also had a laptop, ipad and other valuables in the room, but they weren't touched - just the cash. The staff could not have been less interested when I reported it. The manager, who I eventually managed to get on the phone, was incredibly dismissive and accused me of...

Location is great, rest is average. Visit union st and chestnut st in the evenings and you will find all you need. Hotel is old and v tired, breakfast is simple, but you won't spend much time there as San Francisco has so much to offer. Didn't find it cheap but visited when a big conference was on so we...

Nice room and location was good. Felt safe, employees were helpful. They could add some more choices for the "Continental Breakfast" - like cereal or English muffins instead of just white or wheat bread for toast.

We spend five days in SF. For us the location was perfect. The room was clean and big. Great bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room wa totally quiet. Maybe the breakfast wasn't that great. This hotel is in a good location and we never felt uncomfortable even late at night.

Pros: Great staff, very welcoming and nice. Good location. Bed is comfortable and clean, lots of pillows, cable tv and mini fridge. One of the cheapest places with private bathroom. Breakfast: is not foodie, just bread, butter, banana, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, tea, milk, juice, coffee. To me it's fine. Cons: Walls are paper thin. Room doesn't get dark with the...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
