We haven't been here in years but recently went back to stay and see the nutcracker. The hotel was still as gorgeous as ever. The rooms were remodeled but they did not lose the old world grandeur of this exquisite hotel. Definitely luxury worth paying for.

Loved this hotel on my recent stay. Cosy when it was raining outside. Loved the newly renovated rooms. High point was the superb and knowledgeable service by the concierge Debbie. Great suggestions and thank you for your helpful advice about where to eat. So good to find a concierge who knows her stuff and moreover is happy to take the...

I travel to SF about 10 times a year and have the opportunity to stay at many hotels. Since it's remodel this hotel has become a fave! First off it is beautifully restored and feels like you've stepped back in time. The atrium is breathtaking and great spot to relax. The rooms have been updated and have a very clean...

Stayed here 3 nights with 2 young children. Hotel has been refurbished and is exquisite. Rooms are average size, big enough for 2 adults but we all squashed in as no connecting rooms were available. Concierge was helpful. Would highly recommend as an excellent value, perfectly located hotel.

So this is one of those "luxury" hotels beloved, for some reason by foreign visitors, and those over 65. I think you are supposed to see how spectacular the lobby is, and just forget about the your tiny room, the ancient single pane windows that allow you to effectively eavesdrop of the late night screaming matches between the homeless people...

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your visit with me and I apologize for it not being as enjoyable as we would have liked. There are so many additional amenities, such as complimentary coffee in the lobby and Keurig coffee makers for each room, I am saddened you did not get a chance to enjoy them....

I've been traveling to SF for business for the past year and a half, each time staying in a hotel for 2-3 nights a week. I've stayed in a number of hotels around the city, mostly SPG, but my favorite by far has been the Palace Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the location is super convenient. What has kept...

The two room suite was really quite lovely, with a view of Montgomery and Market streets. The living area with dining table was ideal for entertaining, and the separate bedroom with king sized bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was a bit compact, but the heated Toto washlet was a hit with my significant other. Admittedly I would have enjoyed...

We stayed here prior to a cruise. This hotel was stunning reminded me of a time gone by in the 20s. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. Beds are very comfy. Service eas fantsstic and staff are very helpful. This is probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at.

We spent a couple of nights here just after Christmas and found the Victorian atmosphere opulent but comfortable. The staff were very polite and helpful, especially the doorman who quickly produced dressings for an injury I received when hit by the taxi tailgate. The bedroom was spacious, quiet and well furnished. The bathroom was high tech - heated lavatory seat...

Agreed! The detailed vintage décor is such a treat to see. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay and got to see so much of the hotel. Next time, a dip in the pool is a must! Thank you for you kind words and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Sincerley, Jamie E.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
