We "splurged" on staying at The Palace Hotel because we got a great package (cheap flight!) via Expedia, and it was a good experience. Every employee we encountered, from the doormen to the front desk staff, to the bellhops, was extremely courteous and professional. There...More
I stayed at the Palace Hotel for the last two nights of my four night trip to San Francisco. The Financial District location is excellent, with the Montgomery Street BART/Muni station right on the corner.
I reserved the lowest category of room (Superior), which was...More

South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized
streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.

Yes. There are ramps leading from the sidewalk to the lobby. Elevators, hallways and doors appear to be wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair although I’d ask the hotel. I’m sure they’d be happy to answer that for you.
