Great location and hotel. This hotel is 90+ years old so don't come here expecting shiny and new. Come for the history and the unbeatable location and view. The hotel is walking distance away from many of the attractions of San Francisco. You walk down...More

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your recent stay at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins. I've also shared your feedback with our team. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and hope we can welcome you back soon....More
This was not the ideal location for me. To get anywhere you have a major hill to walk down to get there. The trolleys are $7.00 a ride so get a pass to save you some money. It is close to Chinatown so you can...More

At check in, was offered an room upgrade for $20/night, which we took. Nice view from the 9th floor with large king bed. Cocktails at top of the Mark is a must do, but get in line before it opens for table with the best...More

I have decided to cancel my reservation after getting checked in as I did not believe that the deluxe king room was of Intercontinental caliber. Obviously, location is fantastic; but the room made an impression of a very good Holiday Inn. At Intercontinental rate.

Location, location... is the unfortunate mantra that gets us into trouble every time. One of the SF oldies but well located properties surprised us for the relatively high costs for low quality. The room was tiny, with mediocre view from the 9th floor, we barely...More

Also Known As
Intercontinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco Hotel San Francisco ,
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that

followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
The uber was faster, the shuttle was slightly cheaper split among 5 people (but very slow). If I had to do it over, I'd fly into Oakland since it is much closer to this hotel and area.
