The hotel is in a great location around the corner from nice restaurants. Room was clean and bed was nice but interior is fairly dated although this also fits with the style of the hotel. I'm not a huge fan of the shared bathrooms. I never had to wait for another guest to use the restroom and/or shower but it's...

We selected this hotel on a last minute business trip and were so thankful that we did! The staff immediately made us feel welcome - the room was quaint and comfortable. There were excellent restaurants nearby (and a Walgreens for incidentals). I was concerned about shared baths but they were kept very clean and there were no issues with waiting....

Hayes Valley Inn isn't the most luxurious hotel but it really is comfort at its best. I'm not one for shared bathrooms and like a luxury on holiday, but with what is essentially a 'city break' this hotel is perfect. The rooms are homely, need a little updating, but on the whole comfortable and have everything you need. Breakfast is...

Hayes Valley Inn is a great place for the undemanding visitor. Small rooms, shared baths, nice included continental breakfast. Reminds me of hotels in France 20-30 years ago. Clean, comfortable, secure and friendly.

Stayed one night whilst on supported Pacific Coast bike ride. First impressions were concerning as needed a key to enter hotel. Maybe that's the norm for SF but wondered if I was in a safe area of the city. However the staff were great, the room was clean and more than adequate for a one night stay. Sharing the bathroom...

When my husband suggested this hotel, I was reluctant to try it, but the reviews (and the prices!) were so good, and the area of the city was so amazing, that I decided to try it. The issue was that bathrooms and showers are not in the room. They're 2 or 3 doors down (at the most) from every room,...

This motel is fairly cheap (consider SF prices). Unfortunately it is a "cheap" motel in every sense. The hotel consists of multiple buildings with different entrances in the block. You are given a full key chain to access everything, and then are sent to find the rather unmarked doorway to your building. Pray you get a room that looks towards...

We liked this place a lot. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and everything was clean. We would stay here again. There are excellent restaurants within half a block. Chez Maman is on the corner.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights during our recent road trip around western USA. The reception staff were really sweet and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and fresh however unfortunately there was hardly any room to move around. No tea or coffee making facilities in guests rooms however cookies and instant...
