At the kinetic intersection where SoMa, Union Square and Tenderloin converge, the LINE SF endeavors to reflect the complex history, culture and spirit of the city by exploring the juxtaposition of 21st-century technology and design with the urban grittiness of this historic neighborhood.

The 236-room hotel is home to three distinct dining experiences including a landscaped rooftop solarium which will enjoy panoramic views of the City. With conceptual design by the world-renowned architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and Handel Architects, the 12-story Flat Iron-inspired building is a contemporary interpretation of the area's historic architecture. The project also includes 242 residences and a dedicated space for a local non-profit theater company, Magic Theater.

Modern and updated hotel. Very comfortable bed, wonderful shower and being on the upper floors offers nice views. The rooftop restaurant is nice. Beautiful room! Highly recommended The valley service was easy to use.

The LINE San Francisco is a fantastic, brand new hotel in the heart of the city that is outstanding in every way. The entire hotel is artistically decorated with original art, including every guest room, making each room totally unique. The contemporary room finishes are 5-star luxury quality with every amenity you need (especially the bathrooms). We stayed in one of the suites with extra living space on the top floor. It felt like a penthouse! The housekeeping service was exceptional and accommodated several special requests over our 4-night visit (including a birthday party!). While located in the Tenderloin, the hotel security is outstanding and we never had any safety concerns whatsoever. I highly recommend The LINE San Francisco. You will not be disappointed!

I had by far the best experience staying at The Line Hotel located in the heart of SF. Upon check in I was greeted by the warmest and friendliest face in addition to admiring there'll appointed decor throughout the hotel. The quality of food and drinks are top notch. The Housekeeping team knew my routine and cleaned my room and added extra towels each day knowing I use tons of towels. The details like that are very rare. The valet and security team knew me by name and also goes above and beyond to the point they added a bottled water in my cupholder to hydrate because one of the valet team members knew I was a runner. Another simple gesture you will never get from the large branded hotels. Antonio the General Manager I got a chance to meet in the lobby and had an amazing conversation with him on the history of the hotel but what impressed me most was that the team members I encountered all were so professional and nice to engage with.

Lastly, the guestroom I was in had a tub to accommodate me at the height of 6'5 and it was soooooo comfortable and relaxing. Not that many hotels have a tub that can fit me comfortably.

I have stayed at many hotels in SF and built loyalty but with this experience, The Line SF now has my loyalty moving forward. Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt...... Watch and Learn because this is how service is suppose to be.

I highly recommend staying here moving forward.

Hi Brian B, thank you for sharing your experience with us! At 6'1" myself I know your struggle when it comes to tubs. All our suites have soaking tubs with separate showers. Let me know the next time you're heading to SF, and I'll be sure you get to experience a different suite layout. I have shared your post with the team, and it put a smile on everyone face. Thank you again for your kind words. We look forward to your next visit. Until then, Antonio Flores General Manager aflores@thelinehotel.com

My whole family loved staying at the new Line hotel. My three year old daughter said she wanted to “stay forever” and kept demanding we return ever since we left. We stayed in a.m two queen room and the beds were the most comfortable beds ever. The shower was also great and the kiddos loved it.

My two young kids traveled with us to my work trip, as I had an event in Union square. The front desk staff was always very helpful, and housekeeping was great cleaning up after my messy kiddos every night. The room had a great view of the city and the smart elevators were a hit with my kids. The Tenderheart restaurant wasn’t really kid friendly, but the staff was quick to box everything up for us when we had to take our meal to go. We weren’t able to get a reservation to the rise over run rooftop restaurant unfortunately but maybe next time.

Thanks also to the staff at Alfred coffee shop in the hotel lobby. Every day my daughter would wake up early so I’d take her downstairs so I could get coffee. The barista gave her a complimentary hot chocolate the first morning, and my daughter is now obsessed with hot chocolate. We ended up going downstairs every morning after since my daughter loved the cafe and ordering two hot chocolates (one for her and one for brother). The staff always made her feel so welcome, they were always cheerful and friendly at such an early hour.

We had been warned about the tenderloin area since it’s really not an area you want to be walking around with kids. We ended up driving everywhere so it would be less of an issue. Looking forward to returning in the future!

We had the best time at this hotel! We came in town for business, and were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and modern this hotel is. It’s centrally located and food, shopping and attractions are within walking distance. There’s a well priced parking lot across the street if you want to skip the hotel valet at affordable and reasonable rates. The parking lot also has 24/7 attendants, so your car will be safe! The free water in the room came in handy. You never think about how grateful you are for free water until you come to the room late at night and a fresh bottle is waiting for you. I loved loved loved the fluffy robes that were in the room so we were able to shower, relax, and just watch TV after long business meetings. The hotel was divine, and we will definitely be back! I travel a lot for work, and have stayed in a lot of hotels, and this one has been one of the best! They pay attention to the detail, and their customer service is excellent!

I love The Line hotels. Perfect mix of contemporary design. Urban vibes. A creative crowd/scene. The one in San Francisco is just a little more than 6 months. Love that there’s an Alfred Coffee connected to the lobby! Rooms are spacious and bright with some naturalistic and wooden accents.
There’s an Espresso maker in the room. Asked front desk for decaf capsules. Staff shows up - not communicating in English at all. Gives me caffeine capsules. . TV service has Amazon and Netflix - you’ll need to use your own account .. I asked for an upgrade to a studio with a skyline view upon checking in online as I could see that there were rooms avail. No upgrade happened. Checking out they explained they charge a “40 usd resort fee” on top of the Expedia rate. Never ever seen that before. Used Expedia for maybe 10 years by now. Finally. Union square is not a happening area. That’s not on the hotel but still. So many homeless persons and you really don’t feel safe. I’d take this hotel any day at another location in San Francisco with a better trained staff.
Pro tip. The 24-7 garage 2 min walk from the hotel will charge you 40 usd over night. Valet provided by the hotel (car stored in the same garage) is almost double.

Hi Karesson, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. I'm sorry to hear that it wasn't all that you hoped it would be. We opened the doors in October of last year and look forward for what to come as we continue to open more food and beverage options within the hotel. You are correct, we do have a Guest Amenity Fee of $38.00 +tax this is communicated at time of booking. Our valet fee is $58.00 +tax with in/out privileges. We are in Mid-Market which we like to call the heart of the city; steps away from everything people want to see. That said, I hope you won't let this be your last experience with us. Should your plans ever bring you back to SF, please reach out to me directly. I'd love the opportunity to make your next visit memorable for all the right reasons. Hope to hear from you soon, Antonio Flores General Manager aflores@thelinehotel.com

The Line SF is smack-dab between the Mid-Market & Tenderloin neighbourhoods in the heart of San Francisco. A flatiron (NYC) shaped structure, it touts itself as a lifestyle hotel and I took advantage of it's proximity to Union Square, the Financial District, SoMa, Nob Hill and city attractions.

My Skyline Studio was amazing with floor to ceiling, corner joined windows just perfect for grand views of the S. F. cityscapes. Robust high-tech room appliances outfitted the space while plush white oak furnishings were softening decor items. Walls were adorned with artwork, that some would consider graffiti, but art none the less. I made good use of the work desk for my business tasks. The bathroom provided a deep soaking tub and walk in shower.

The hotel features, 'Rise over Run', a rooftop bar with a panoramic view and a ground level Tenderheart Restaurant that puts a multicultural spin on Northern California cuisine. The restaurants Grilled Swordfish was exceptional.

To stay on top of my exercise game I used the 24/7 accessible gym.

If you would like a groovy hotel parked in the middle of everything..........then try the .................Line SF........Draws The Line on Quality.

What a gem--wish we could have stayed longer. The room was gorgeous. I sent pictures to all my friends. The special touches like electric shades, bidet toilet, luxury shower and soaking tub made the experience feel like a spa. The city views were fantastic. We dined out a few blocks away and there were many restaurants to choose from. When the hotel room is better than my home, I feel pampered and special. I want to go back soon.

Like all the Line hotels, the Line SF offers a wonderful blend of personal, old-world service, a contemporary attitude, distinctive furnishings and amenities, and view into the neighborhood in which it's located. Our visit over several days with family was wonderful. The staff made everything effortless and comfortable. While on the edge of the Tenderloin, the hotel takes guest security very seriously. But it's done in such a "Line" way - understated, understanding, and welcoming. Our rooms were lovely and beautifuly adorned with contemporary art. While there was somewhat limited service over the Christmas holidays, the coffee bar was always open and welcoming with yummy baked goods and coffees. On our last night we had a final dinner at Tenderheart, their distinctive small-plates restaurant. The Berkshire pork chop was a favorite, along with Short Ribs with Hong Kong noodles. A beautiful evening to cap off a wonderful stay.

Completely underwhelming, it’s clear the property is cutting any corner possible to save money and the poor guest experience shows. Limited hours and even more limited menus for on site dining. A completely unconcerned front desk staff. The property talks a big amenity game in online marketing and fails at almost every touch point. The only positive aspect of this stay was the sheets were clean. Unless you have a deep desire to be disappointed avoid staying here.
