First of all this inn is a good place to stay to explore all of San Francisco. Bus's etc in easy walking distance. The rooms are large and spacious. With lots of interesting art. Although breakfast is not served there, you can get 50% off at a nearby restaurant that serves great food. If I was going back to San...

Staying in the Studio is just like having your own place in San Francisco. The room was spacious, with a sitting area and kitchenette. The bathroom was small and basic, but was adequate. Street noise was minimal and there is a charming courtyard to enjoy the mild San Francisco weather.

In a city where hotel prices are through the roof, this place is a great value. Sort of like a B&B without breakfast but don't need it (plenty of great places within a 5 minute walk). Great location, nice size room, complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. Will definitely go back

This is a lovely house just around the corner from Fillmore Ave that has great spacious accommodation with lots of character. We stayed in the studio with a full kitchen and plenty of living space. We were only there overnight but I would definitely return for a longer stay to enjoy the neighbourhood. A great alternative to hotel accommodation

An excellent find! So lovely to stay here for our first visit to San Francisco - much better than staying in an anonymous downtown hotel. Diane very friendly and welcoming - you have to walk through her part of the house to get to some of the rooms she lets and is always ready to stop and chat. We stayed...

Artists Inn is a cozy home away from home in San Francisco's Fillmore district. The area is residential with numerous shops and good restaurants within walking distance including a very hip Starbucks within 3 blocks. The owner, Denise is a great host. Her husband, now deceased, was an artist and his work fills the inn with beauty. The Inn is...

I absolutely loved this place. I was in town on business and wanted to avoid staying in an anonymous hotel downtown. It is such an oasis -- the garden, the lovely rooms, and the personal (but also very private) feel of it. I stayed in Virginia's room, which had a really comfortable bed, excellent shower, and so many interesting art...

We had a wonderful experience at the Artists Inn. The manager Lily was very pleasant and welcoming and extremely helpful. We were able to extend our stay with minimal fuss when faced with a flight cancellation. We started with a bit of a mix up as we had requested the studio room which other reviews said had a small kitchen....

This small hotel boutique has good style. Is located right next to restaurants, shops, Japantown. Is quiet, clean, very confortable, well decorated. The price is good. I would stay again here. For a longer stay I will enjoy more the sunny patio with orchids, perfect for reading or writing.

Upon arriving we were greeted by the owner Denise, who was so welcoming. Inside this typical San Francisco wooden house is a warm friendly atmosphere. We stayed in the garden room with its delightful unique decor. The room was full of books and desks reminiscent of an artist's studio. We had a wonderful time picnicking in the garden, Denise was...

“I didn't see all four rooms, but all are probably fine. I stayed in Virginia's Room, which was spacious and comfortable. My folks stayed in the Studio and -wow- I'd try to stay there. It's very large with a kitchen and beautiful light. I thought it was an upgrade, but all the rooms cost the same.”
