I've stayed in this hostel several times and it never disappoints. Great quality for a hostel - the facilities are very well maintained, and the beds are comfortable. The private room has a sink and a small fan. I love the fact that the walls are solid concrete, so you don't really hear what's going on in the next room....

It was very very noisy, we struggled to sleep most nights as the walls were extremely thin. You can hear people walk, talk, shower, use the toilet and fart up to three rooms away. Elevators were broken, so you could hear everyone dragging their cases down five floors of stairs at all times of the night. There were windows everywhere...

Thanks for taking the time to write this detailed review, traveler! We pride ourselves on our ability to offer safe, clean, affordable accommodations to hostellers, so I'm sorry to hear that our amenities did not meet your expectations. It's indeed unfortunate that your visit coincided with a time when our elevator was temporarily out of service. It was an unusual...

A friend and I stayed at this Hostel for 3 nights while attending a conference downtown. This hostel has a great, central location to the South of Market area. The breakfast every morning (bagels, oatmeal, apples, bananas, OJ, water) was great. The WiFi was really good. The place was pretty clean for a hostel. If I was looking for a...

we stayed in a double en suite room facing the street. Everything is ok except that there was loud noise and music all nights until early morning. The location is great. The breakfast has only bagels and cereals. The bagels are great. Room rates for double rooms are not cheap.

You can't go wrong here. As stated, great city centre location, everything on the doorstep. Secure too. We had a double room. Includes a wash basin which is great as bathrooms are shared. Since the dorms have their own bathrooms though, never a queue for the bathrooms even though they are small. Great kitchen. Free Breakfast can get busy so...

I had a wonderful time in SF, due largely to my experience at this hostel. Travelling solo, and my first time to the US, I was keen for a well located, safe and easy place to stay. This hostel ticked all those. The location is amazing. It was great to have a main transport hub just a few minutes walk...

I've been staying here for years. It never disappoints. Clean and comfortable. Always meet interesting world travelers. Love the free breakfast, and the location is super convenient for just about anything San Francisco visitors need. Powell Street BART station is a block and a half away, and it serves as a hub for just about every other kind of transportation...

I stayed here 4 nights in a male dorm. I noticed immediately that everything was very clean and people very nice at the front desk. Location is great, practically in Union Square. Breakfast is standard, could be a little more various but if you want you can bring anything. I met wonderful people coming from all over the world, great...

It's really frustrating to find a cheap, good place to stay in San Francisco Downtown. Well, this hostel is just the right solution: great rooms, AMAZING service and perfect location. Stayed there for 1 week, both in a double room and in a dormitory. Everything is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. You will find free bagels to fill up with marmalades...

Lovely big house hostel with soft carpets, friendly helpful staff & Central location. Delicious fresh bagels for breakfast with coffee & juice but but repetitive after 3 days.. Incredibly expensive by the time you add all the extra charges & taxes, but not sure you can find cheaper in SF. Nice having chill areas & free wifi. Would recommend!
