Having completed a lengthy visit to the S.F. Bay area and the Napa Valley, our last night before returning home was spent at the Argonaut. While the staff was courteous, they seemed somewhat less than genuine at the front desk. The doorman service and valet were the most helpful. The size of our room made it difficult to control the...

77Tom77, I am terribly sorry to hear you were so underwhelmed during your stay. No excuses, we clearly dropped the ball on this one, so my apologies. I'll personally circle back with our department Managers to address your feedback, which while not what I hope for, is my best tool to ensure we get it right next time. And trust...

We stayed here for 4 nights in September. We had a huge room on the 5th floor with a view of the bay and Alcatraz. We were thrilled with our room and Stephen the doorman who was filling in for the luggage man, certainly made our arrival a memorable one. He was awesome and lots of fun. Loved the location,...

We travelled from the UK for our first trip to San Fran and the Argonaut. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by John, the doorman, who was friendly and helpful throughout our 5 day stay. The rooms were lovely and the beds the most comfortable to date! We took advantage of the hotels complimentary bike rental and cycled over...

We stayed in the Argonaut on the recommendation of our concierge in LA. It is in a great location, opposite Fishermans Wharf on the bay. It is a well run hotel and a lot of thought has gone into decor and amenities. We were staying over a weekend and our stay coincided with a corporate convention so the hotel was...

MrsBuchanan , I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the hotel as a whole, but am sorry to hear you didn't feel the value. You are right, you stayed with us in the middle of the Oracle convention and that did cause rates to be higher throughout the city. Please note, we always have promotions going on, and that is a...

My wife and I visited the hotel for a couple of nights stay prior to a cruise at the end of august 2012. It is located about a fifteen minutes walk from pier 39 and Fishermans' Wharf via the gauntlet of shops trying to drag you inside. Upon arrival our cases were dealt with efficiently and immediately the touting started...

We stayed here from the 12th to 16th September and loved this hotel. This was our first trip to San Francisco & we were unsure where to make our base. Fisherman's Wharf is a bit touristy with the usual cheesy souvenir shops but the hotel is located away from this section, at the end of the Wharf in a nice...

We stayed in the Argonaut from the 24th September until the 27th September, 2012, loved the location we had been touring in California and wanted somewhere central before flying back to the UK, so had no car and you dont need one here, so easy to get to Pier 39 and surrounding areas and the cable car is close by....

Karen M., Thank you for the kind words, I am very happy to hear you had an enjoyable stay. Especially, since it sounds like it was on a whim on a "layover," of sorts. Our views of the Golden Gate Bridge are awesome...trust me, I know we are spoiled! We hope to see you again soon, we'll have a glass...

While the hotel was relatively comfortable and clean, I felt I did not get the value for the cost. At over 500 a night, I expect fresh smelling hallways, a high end bathroom (the bathroom was standard size with a shower curtain) and no strings attached wi-fi. Even the bottled water in the rooms was weird..."flasks" of water which had...

We arrive at the hotel on a hot Friday afternoon after driving from Lake Tahoe - 3 to 4 hours of driving. We stayed at the Argonaut for 2 nights Sept 2012. The doormen couldn't have been more helpful and informative. The room was clean and a good size. We loved the ridiculous animal print bath robes, and the large high beds were extremely comfortable. Nice views, over the park and towards Ghiradelli Square. But above all, the location is great!
