This is a bare bones hotel. It' on a second and third floor walk up. The room was clean as was the bathroom, although it didn't have a mirror. We stayed 3 nights, and there was no housekeeping at all. There's popular Vietnamese Pho restaurant next door that's popular with millenials that was very good. If the location works for...

While this hotel is not the worst in city, it is truly a 1 star hotel. Do NOT expect much. Old school hotel where the family is cooking dinner behind the check-in ----- not charming. The rooms are basic, no hangers in the open closet

Hotel Tropicana outright tried to ruin my vacation! They overbooked their rooms, and after flying in to SF and depending on a good nights sleep, the hotel pretty much said too bad so sad we cant help you even though you had a reservation. I ended up driving around until 2 in the morning before I finally found a place...

This is quite an expensive place for what you get, you get what you pay for in this instance is definitely not the case. The rooms are tiny and it was very hard to manoeuvre around when more than one person in the room. There is no air conditioning so if you stay in the warmer months prepare for what...

We arrived at the hotel and took us 30 minutes to check in, in which time we had very heated discussions with the owners about what we were being charged. We had an extra person to the original booking and was a nightmare to sort. For one she couldn't find the booking! Eventually I had to go and show her...

Love the location, but decor is extremely dated. Funky building with multiple stairways. Reception area is a small window, which leads to the family home of the caretaker. Children were watching TV on the computer when I walked up and I was not acknowledged for minutes, until an adult happened to walk through the office. Middle Eastern cooking (which I...

Checking in at 5pm our room was still dirty from the previous renter. We were switched to a new room but had to wait in the hallway for 15 minutes while it was cleaned. The room was tiny to the point where you have to turn sideways to pass the other person. Small tv with the 80s. The entire place...

Not a bad room, basic but does a job, was ridiculously overpriced for the weekend we stayed here, no internet in room, no breakfast and staff were so rude (When they eventually came out of the back room). They gave us no information about surrounding areas and things to do in San Francisco. -waste of money!!

I live in San Francisco and stayed here for a few nights in July 2013. Internet rates were ~$130/night, but I was able to get a (smallish) room with private bath for $80+ tax by asking directly through the hotel. Hotels can be pretty expensive in SF, average rate for a decent place is usually close to $200/night. I used...

Staying in Mission District

Neighbourhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighbourhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners.
