Neighbourhood
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.

What a great place!! clean clean clean, easy check in..FREE (did I say FREE??!!) parking and 2 blocks to North Beach and on block to Chinatown..15 minute walk downtown...10 minute walk to the Embarcadero....and we paid under $130.00 for a room with 2 queen beds. Basic TV, but

Convenient location but like many other hotels in San Francisco ... with the same price you can find better. As soon as we arrived, an old lady at the reception was very rude. She did not even look at us in the eyes and no smile. It seems like everyone was bothering her. The

The room was reasonable, housekeeping was generous when we asked for more coffee and towels. We were lucky to be away from street noise, but the location is unbeatable. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and we had free parking for our rental car....a huge bonus!

The location and price is the great thing about this motel. It is steps from good restaurants and cheap souvenir shops. The bed was hard as a rock, super noisey with neighbours and cars on the street, tv didn’t work but was a clean room.

Bring your earplugs if you are facing the street. The hotel is in a restaurant district, so it is very busy and nosy because your wall is basically a huge window overlooking the streets. Not fancy to say the least very limited cable. Great customer service. No refrigerator. The

Could the shuttle pick me up at San Jose airport
Don't think the hotel offers a shuttle, it's more a motel

Do you have air conditioning?
Yes, this hotel has air conditioning. If possible get one of the rooms on the second floor with a view of the Coit tower.

Is the location safe for kids?
Absolutely the area is safe for kids. It is in Chinatown about three blocks from the tenderloin. The tenderloin is now pretty mild compared to comparable areas in NYC and elsewhere. Our one complaint is that the area is fairly loud in terms of street cleaners, garbage men, and similar amenities, which start very early in the am.
