Cannot say enough about the wonderful concierge---Bill and his colleagues. I needed a rental car for the day and he arranged everything, over the phone (I called 2 days before my arrival at the hotel). The car arrived on time and I was notified. The concierge on duty gave me explicit printed directions to my destination and then to the...

Just got home after staying at the Intercontinental Howard St. in San Francisco and had to get this review done right away. From the check in to the check out my entire 4 night stay in a King Corner room (1819) was absolutely perfect. The room was spectacular. Wall to ceiling panoramic views of the city, and extremely comfy bedding...

I stayed here for business in March 2014. On arrival, the staff were cheerful and helped with the luggage, of which there wasn't much. The Reception Desk came up tops in my book, as they offered me a free frequent stay club membership, in exchange for getting free wifi for the stay. I am sure other hotels have the same...

Lets start with bad : We arrived by taxi, few bellboys were standing at the door looking at us, they saw we have big suitcases but none of them came and offered taking our luggage. We had to carry everything by ourselves to lobby and to our room. Same goes with taxi - they will not call taxi for you...

This is a great hotel with an excellent staff. If your at the Moscone Center for an event this is an extremely convenient location. The hotel is beautiful and housekeeping is impeccable. The bar and restaurant are a bit over priced for the neighborhood but it is an Intercontinental.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
