Simply the best bang for the buck in the San Francisco area. Historic and quaint but very very convenient and affordable considering the location. I will stay here aging on my next trip out to explore this great part of the city.
I loved staying here , I was having tests don at UCSF , and this hotel was close to walk to , nice neighborhood.

This is a quaint, historic place to stay but our room had no view. It almost looked directly into another room. I'll not sure how about the layout but that was just weird. We didn't bother complaining because we were out a lot. Their heat...More

We chose the Stanyon for its location close to our relatives. The staff was friendly and courteous throughout. The room was clean . No heat in the bathroom but a heater was supplied on request and there was plenty of hot water available.

The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time.
A must-see neighbourhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
