This hotel is situated a few blocks from Union Sq, so it's very central without being in the loud noise and congestion of Union Sq itself. Our checkin was very smooth and friendly (by a young lady who was cheerful and helpful throughout our stay). Our rooms were surprising large - for SF - very clean and facing towards the...

We were concerned with the street noise that we would experience in San Francisco and requested a quiet room. We were not disappointed. Our room was on the 6th floor and was over looking the interior courtyard of the building. We did not spend much time in the room so not having an outside room was not a big deal....

Other people may have had a better experience than I, but the downfall of this hotel for me was my specific room which was room 312. In this room, I had absolutely no way to receive cell phone reception which meant I was completely disconnected to the world in that sense, and nowadays, I don;t think anyone wants to be...

Near some sketchy areas, be careful what direction you walk! Stay away from the Tenderloin neighborhood! The lobby is old in a good charming way, the rooms are old in a bad overdue for remodeling sort of way. The WiFi internet is really spotty and hardly usable except in the lobby. The TV in the room was old and the...

This was our first visit to San Francisco, and having visited many cities in USA Canada and the rest of the world we were in awe of this fantastic, vibrant and welcoming city. The hotel is in a very good location, a short walk from Union Square, where you can catch the world famous cable cars, trams and tour buses....

We were pleasantly surprised with this older but charming hotel. Very reasonably priced - complimentary continental breakfast and a simple but adequate wine & cheese hour. Only 3 blocks from Union Square. The hotel has a spacious lobby area with an old world feel. International guests outnumbered Americans during our stay - great conversations during breakfast. Similar to a bed...

We stayed here for 4 nights in August, following on from our stays in New York and Las Vegas. We arrived fairly late in the evening following an evening flight from Vegas. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and upgraded to a Junior Suite. 2 double beds, a fully fitted kitchen and a large bathroom with 2 sinks. We found...

When walking into the hotel it feels like walking back into time. The lobby is very large with plenty of informal seating, high ceilings and plenty of lighting. It's location is within walking distance of the piers if you are used to exercise. For my sister and I it was very easy to make our way to various locations just...

The hotel is nice, perfectly located - 3 blocks to Union Sq and Cable Car stations - and historical. Large rooms, but they would need some renovations (bath for sure, altrough clean). A big drawback is the breakfast, served in the lobby (!) and very poor. A few emptovements would definitely increase the pleasure of staying in this nice hotel.
