My husband and I were surprisingly very happy with this stay at Grand Hyatt SF. We were emailed and invited to check-in online a couple days ahead, which we did. The day of, we were assigned an upgraded room because we are Explorist Hyatt status!!

Because we checked in on time, that allowed us to NEVER have to go to the front desk when we arrived at the property. We went straight up to the room we were assigned and used the room key via the app. Everything worked flawlessly in the process.

The room was a King View room (#2610) and it was great! It was extremely bright and clean and seemed very modern... much more than we were anticipating. And it DID have a great view of the city and the bay! The bedding was awesome and we were given extra feather pillows ready in our room upon arrival after the hotel proactively reached out to us to ensure they were ready for whatever we wanted - AMAZING. There were plenty of switches and plugs everywhere, there were automatic nightlights that lit your way around the bed if you stepped out of the bed at night. The bathroom sink was awesome. The water pressure and drain worked flawlessly; I just wished the shower was a stall, but that is a personal preference.

The hotel has an AWESOME bar area on the mezzanine (second level) that my husband took advantage of when I was getting ready. We did not look into much else of the hotel, but we were very satisfied and we would definitely stay there again based on this experience.

The Grand Hyatt in San Francisco sits overlooking the famed Union Sauare park. The location is excellent for shopping, walking to Chinatown and local restaurants.
The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated but the noise level is disconcerting, expecially from the hall and side facing Union Square. Surprisingly, the buidling is not well insulated against noise from the wind.
The Club Room has an excellent assortment of breakfast options from coffee cake, oatmeal, even lox. In the evening, one can have a meal equivalent to a dinner. The assortment of snack food, beverages and fruit is a pleasant surprise and well worth the extra cost, especially if one arrives tired and not ready to go out sight seeing or foraging for food.
The views of Coit Tower and the city are awe inspiring from the Club Room.
The valet parking is expensive but one can self-park across the street at the Stockton St. garage. Parking has "in and out" privileges.

The Grand Hyatt is located just 1 block from Union Square, the shopping epicenter of SF. We stayed at the hotel during the peak of COVID. I was particularly impressed with the how the hotel handled the safety precautions. They had extra carts available to guest for bringing their own luggage to their room. They had plexiglass dividers at the front desk with a box for keys upon check out. Hand sanitizer dispensers are at elevators on every floor in addition to tissues for use to press the buttons. No room service or restaurant, but their grab n go was well stocked. They've established a text messaging service for questions instead of calling the operator or the front desk. This was much more efficient that call someone. Responses were immediate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who is traveling to SF during COVID. I felt very safe and was able to enjoy my trip.

The Grand Hyatt in San Francisco is a full-service hotel with on site valet, a restaurant and bar, and exclusive Lounge for Hyatt VIP members. What initially attracted me most to the hotel was its location, located in the heart of San Francisco, the hotel's grandeur reflects the upper crust shopping from The Apple store, Tiffany's and Victorias secret as well as lovely Escape Games, and delicious dining, and unique shopping just a walk away to the China Town district with seemingly low prices for everything it offers from Boba Tea to luggage. Valet Parking is available for $80 and well worth it, with the outstanding customer service provided. While inside the hotel, I saw all staff wearing masks and noticed the lobby area being frequently wiped down by employees. Thanks to the gorgeous city views from the lounge and our room, fantastic cocktail and small bite offerings, and all the shopping nearby, I would highly reccomend this lovely city getaway.

This was a disappointing hotel given that it's a grand Hyatt in a major city. Honestly, the regular Hyatt at the airport is nicer. Room was ok, but they don't offer any bottle water, which is fine since they have water machine on the floor. But it's not cold, which is weird. The gym is really small, and for some reason that water machine doesn't have cold water either. The gym itself is very warm, which doesn't make sense given that people are building up a sweat. The same water machine at other hyatts has cold water, so why does it seem like this hotel just doesn't care? The fridge in the room can't make anything cold. I got a egg sandwhich in the lobby Cafe, it was $9 and literally something they just nuke in a microwave, which is just ridiculous. It's like they just don't care at this hotel, over charging and providing below average service.

I’d like to thank the staff at the Grand Hyatt and a special shout-out to Gliezl for ensuring that l had a wonderful stay on my birthday. I arrived at the hotel early because l had a video call that l didn’t want to do at the airport.

I booked an executive suite, the room wasn’t ready, so l paid a bit more to get upgraded to their presidential suite. This suite has a kitchenette with a microwave and a mini fridge, nice artwork in the dining room, the bathroom is huge with a soaking tub and a sauna, large walk-in closet, very modern, peloton bike in the bedroom with a nice view of the Pyramid building.

Given the challenges that the world is going through, l am extremely grateful to the staff for their continued service, professionalism, and most importantly, making sure that guests feel safe. I felt very safe and the suite is clean and l felt comfortable as though l was at home. The only thing l would change is the fabric sofa. This is all subjective, l think hotels should have leather sofas instead of fabric.

I chose this hotel because I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Seattle and it was exceptional. The customer service was top notch. I expected the same from this one as well. I figured it’s the brand and all the hotels and front desk would be the same. Not so. I notified them days before my arrival that I needed my room to be feather free. I very allergic. I arrived at 9:36 pm the front desk gentleman Alex checked me in. He was not very receptive. As he rushed over the fees I ask if they had indeed made my room feather free and it was not. He said wellllll you made your reservation through a third party soooooo...... Ha! That’s when I informed him that I called Priceline to ensure the room was feather free and they patched me in on the call they spoke with Ericka about this. Everything was set. So that excuse was lame. No apologies just me waiting for my room to switched out. I’m now very tired I asked can I go in just to sit down an unwind he went to ask his manager, said yes and walked me to the elevator. Finally housekeeping came. She wasn’t wearing a mask. I still was so she put hers on. My linen was just thrown on top of a luggage rack. She even dropped a pillow case on the floor an attempted to use it on one of the new feather free pillows. Ugh. She began changing my bed after removing the feather blanket and pillows I offered to help because it was late and she was about to get off. Oh and the picture with the wood floors. Nope. And I checked to make sure that the room I got was the same type in the photos online and it is. I’m not happy with my stay here. Seattle Grand Hyatt is the best yet. San Francisco at 345 Stockton Street.....Not so Grand.

Was charged fees that I was Not made aware about when booking Or checking into the hotel.

The rooms are small

Beds are uncomfortable and the sheets are low quality. Pillows are uncomfortable and the beds made my body ache.

For such an expensive hotel, the towels are not even remotely soft and don't smell nice.

It costs $25/day (plus taxes probably) to rent a microwave for your room.

Mini fridge is the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel room.

Walls are paper thin and you can hear out into the hallway and in the next rooms very easily. I was the furthest room from the elevator, but you could hear it fairly loudly.

There is a large gap under the room door so the hallway light and noise floods into the room

The bathroom sinks are so shallow that it's hard to use it for anything

Great stay and great location. The rooms were clean and modern as well as very quiet. Loved the automatic dark out blinds. Staff was friendly. But we do have a few complaints like; when we asked for water glasses they were not delivered in a timely fashion. Water station next to ice machine took hours to refill. And when we called the front desk for clean sheets in the morning nobody ever delivered I had to get them myself a couple hours later off the housekeeping cart.

The hotel is excellently situated in San Francisco, but the actual rooms fell below Hyatt standards. Starting with the positives, the staff was always courteous, professional, and helpful. The rooms were appointed with really nice toiletries (Balmain) and had great electric blinds to control sunlight. As is standard, the room had a nice big working desk to handle any business/work needs.
Nevertheless, the negatives outweighed the positives. The suite looked very worn. Specifically, the upholstery had stains, the laminate was peeling, the leather scratched, and the base boards looked like they needed a good refinish or repainting. The bathroom and foyer tile grout was a dirty black and looked like it hadn't had a deep clean in a very long time. The room was supplied with ear plugs in order to handle the "inconvenience" of the noisy elevators that permeated the suite walls throughout the night. There was a lot left to be desired, which is unfortunate given it's great location and potential to be so much more. Probably best to stay at this hotel only after it goes through a renovation.

Microwave is a very good idea,as when’s we were there mid April there was no room service,no breakfast lunch or dinner as no restaurant in the hotel open ,a puny stall for in the lobby offering not much, the One up lounge should be called two down instead as it had a surly bloody rude barman and all the food was fried basically and not well as my wife’s chcken wings were not fully cooked or defrosted as they are obviously cooked from frozen as there was still blood in the middle…..FOOD POISONING WAITING TOO HAPPEN… we should have stayed at the St Francis in the square…would not stay here again if it was FREE ..NO CHARGE

Check-in when I was last there was 4pm and checkout was at 12noon. Depending on the day you could totally request an early check-in as well as a late checkout. But it all depends on their capacity that day.
