I stayed for one night at the Grant Plaza Hotel in San Francisco and my experience was terrible. They have great location, affordable prices and good advertising pictures but the reality is not quite the same as we see online. Room was tinny and smelling smoke, although there was a sign saying that smoke wasn't allowed. The bathroom was dirty,... More

Hotel was fine until I got bed bug bites! Had a very uncomfortable and extremely itchy flight home with weeping sores. Was dosed up on anti histamines. The receptionist didn't believe me because he said no one had complained about it before however the bites were on my feet which were covered with shoes and socks when I was out,... More

We stayed at the Grant for 3 nights during October and while the rooms were small they had every thing we needed for our stay in San Francisco- comfortable beds, clean rooms, hot water. The location on the edge of Chinatown was great and gave us easy access to the city, the wharf area etc. You do get a bit... More

But the rooms feel like prison cells (small, square, small TV hanging on the wall) and, for me, the hallways were noisy and the plumbing made a ton of noise anytime someone flushed a toilet. I left after my first night and found a room somewhere else.

My husband and I recently stayed here for 3 nights. It's near the BART train station which we got from the airport and it's really close to Union Square where all the shops are. The room was quite small, bed not so comfortable but we were out all day exploring that it really didn't bother us. The wifi was free... More

With how average/negative other reviews seemed to be, I had expected worse. Grant Plaza is affordable, perfectly located, and a great place to stay for a night or two. I wouldn't really recommend it for a week or longer, as it's not quiet or comfortable enough, but it was perfect for what I needed. I was disappointed that they were... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and it was a very clean place but the room was the smallest we have ever stayed in and the bed was the MOST uncomfortable and smallest bed we have ever slept in. Simply upgrading the beds would have made this stay much more acceptable. The floors creaked a lot and we... More

The location of this hotel is great within the gates of China Town, everything is pretty much within walking distance or a short tram ride away. Rooms are basic and very small but overall i think good value for money considering the cost of San Francisco hotels !

A clean, functional hotel with friendly and helpful staff which is in a good position for exploring San Francisco. The rooms are small and the showers very hot. We did not arrive until nearly midnight but the receptionist was welcoming and we were soon in our room.
