If the outside doesn't scare you, wait until you walk to your room and then enter it. I can't remember the last time I saw an old school TV in a hotel. Then to see the iron and ironing board hanging prominently in the wall next to the TV. Enough said...

Was happy that there was a fridge and microwave in the room. Rooms are a bit out of date in decor but clean and no pests. Stairs only for room access. Good value for money and fine for comfort. Traffic can be noisy but the AC units are good and not noisy so you can shut the window. Great to...

Small affordable hotel and good if you are travelling by car since there is free parking. Hotel is clean and everything works as expected. Wifi is ok. Ten minutes walk to Market Street but this hotel is not by any means near the sights of SF. Lot of homeless people right outside the hotel entrance and we didn't feel that...

Good quality/price ratio lodging in San Francisco. Comfortable room, fast free wifi, fine continental breakfast included. Kudos for fridge and microwave oven in the room. But location is tricky if you do not drive a car. A good 10 minutes walk to Market Street, where most public transportation runs, and 25 minutes walk to Union Square. Plus the specific area...

We came to San Francisco for sight seeing and a little getaway so we pretty much walked the whole time there. The location is walking distance to many main streets and easy to find. Hotel staff was kind and the room was nice and cosy. Only downside was the amount of homeless that live around this area. Other than that...

We stay here for two night in December 2016. We have booked two rooms. The location was good. The room was ok, clean but it was a while since the rooms were renovated....! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Polite friendly staff, clean rooms. Not a place to stay if your after luxury but we were sight seeing and it was perfect. Easy to get to all the main sightseeing spots. Perfect for what we wanted. Lots of places to eat in a short walk. Breakfast was fine for us, good coffee, cereals, pastries and juice. The room had...

The SF Inn room we stayed in was relatively small compared to a similarly priced motel, but we dealt with it easily. We frankly spent little time in the room because we were tourist-ing all day and a lot of the night. We didn't use a car until the last day, but the parking lot was well secured. The rooms...

I had a good stay at the SF Inn. The room was good for the price. The location of the property is great, conveniently placed from the Downtown/Financial district and close to the Mission district. Parking is free, though not reserved. Free Wifi worked well except on the first day of my stay when they were 100% occupied. Breakfast options...

Clean, comfortable, located in SOMA. Safe and free guest parking. Reasonable prices. Good complementary breakfast. Helpful gentleman at the front desk. Within walking distance of some interesting dining.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
