Though we are Marriott Platinum Elite, and stay in San Francisco, several times each month, this was our first visit to the JW Marriott, on Mason St., just off of Union Square. We have stayed at a few other Marriott properties in Metro San Francisco, but never at this particular property. I dropped my wife off at her corporate office...

Stayed here over night after a trip in Northern California. Overall hotel was Ok. Rooms were clean and bar area was pretty active. Location was good for shopping and dining. Biggest surprise was being denied a late checkout. Needed access to a shower and there were no showers in the gym/spa. Thankfully a young lady who worked at the desk...

This one is a bit different than most JW Marriott properties. The building is older, which is expected in SF, so the decor and layout are both a bit dated and in my experience not a typical JW. Rooms are very nice size relative to most rooms in the city. My room included a separate shower and a large bathtub....

I just went to JW for lunch while attending a conference. I walked up to sit at the bar for a quick lunch. I was informed that I had to buy a minimum of $100 in food and beverage to sit at the bar. Way to take care of your loyal guests... guess how many were at the bar -...

Good Afternoon Brian, Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize for the surge in prices happening this week. We have one of the largest conventions happening in our hotel; thus, our prices are set at a fixed rate for this special event. Our regular prices will be implemented after the conference is over next week. Once again, thank you...

The hotel is situated in a good spot in union Square . It is a bit tired looking now and good do with a bit of an upgrade. The hotel staff were really great could not be faulted . Cheerful and attentive to your every need. Beds are really comfortable and rooms are a good size don't particularly like showering...

I booked a stay using points and was treated to a room upgrade to a junior suite. Whilst the room wasn't ready at my arrival, the lobby staff did all it could to make my brief wait as enjoyable as possible. The lobby is rather stately and offers no end of entertainment from food, drink, or people watching. Room features...

Forbes ranked this hotel one of the best in the world? Because they have a lot of polished brass? Because it has an elegant lobby? I really don't understand it. Let me say it is a nice hotel but not really a top quality JW. Why? First of all the bathrooms are beautiful but not practical. A British phone booth...

When I booked this hotel,I have very high expectations since its a JW Marriott. We've stayed at different JW and Marriott hotels around the world and we've always had a pleasant experience. This was a very different one! We pulled in to the property at 2 am on the 27th December. The moment I got out of the car, I...

The front desk is terrible and in particular the manager Jacob. He is incompetent and very nasty. Not only did he not know how to do his job, he screamed at me and my 17 year old son. He was vulgar and a complete jerk to us. In addition, he very poorly represents the Marriot brand and is a disgrace....

I stayed here for 6 nights over the Christmas holiday period and I loved every minute of it. I'd definitely return. The hotel is 5 min walk from Union Square and all the major shopping amenities and restaurants and also the Powel st Trolley line and Powell BART station. So getting around to all the favourite locations is easy. There...
