This place works for us. Rooms are clean even if "basic". Friendly, helpful management. Very reasonable room rates for San Francisco. Nice location a block from an entrance to the Presidio. Public transportation nearby [if you are not an Uber user]. Walk to Palace of Fine Arts and the Marina.

Pros: Nice location, area is pretty safe and quiet, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Cons: Walls are thin, can hear the neighbors talking, parking is small and akward, wifi not fast. Bottom line: if you need a place to lay your head after sightseeing, its fine.

Niki was very helpful over the phone when I was informing her of my puppy traveling with us. Raymond at check in was very professional and pleasant. Suggested a few restaurants to eat and things to do around the hotel. I used my Rewards Nights and he said he would waive my pet fee but it wasn't waived at check... More

Stayed one night for a concert in San Francisco. Great location next to the beautiful Presidio. Right around the corner is a wonderful breakfast / lunch restaurant called Baker Street Bistro. Great staff.

I had 4 rooms reserved for an overnight stay for our running group. We were greeted by such a friendly staff who went over the hotel ins and outs. They gave us great tips. We had an early race the next day and they even had breakfast early for us. They went out of their way to ensure our needs... More

Located just outside the Presidio, great location to cycle over the bridge. Rooms/ bathrooms quite small, but clean with comfortable beds. Short walk to bus stops. Although the desk staff was pleasant, all excursion information was inaccurate so beware and double check (Price for bus ticket incorrect, walk distance to destination inaccurate, 20% off science museum discount couldn't find,...)

We were afraid the room was going to be substandard because the price was very reasonable and included free parking, but we were happy with everything the hotel has to offer. The staffs were nice, the room was clean, bed was comfy, and it wasn't loud at night. It was also near a bus stop which takes you Downtown. Will... More

We didn't realise it was Fleet Week in San Fran, also 2 cruise ships and a huge conference...hotel prices were outrageous! I booked the Travelodge as it was about the only hotel under $400 per night! The staff are fantastic..ask them about transport and they will give you a detailed really helpful map of the bus routes..and off you go!... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
