The gardens were absolutely beautiful. The room not so much. The Phoenix Suite is spacious and well set for the most part. You will have to overlook the step you walk up to go into the bathroom. It was over $200 per night. For that much money I expect a toilet that flushes. When

A fully functional room including toilet should be a given. The front desk failed to perform to our expectations for which we apologize. The toilet in question had not been a problem prior to your visit, but it has since been changed to a newer unit which has never had any performance issues. We work very hard to provide an enjoyable experience for all of our guests and in your case, we let you down. Please accept our apology. Jim Bryan

We arrived later in the evening during what I am told was off season so we had one night at the Isaac Wing House and our second night at the Bayfield Inn. Both were excellent and the staff was amazing. Very gracious from the minute on the telephone to the end of our little

The Inn was full, and so we booked a mini-suite across the street in the "Isaac Wing". It was quaint; rustic. There were two separate sitting rooms outside the actual suite. The suite had a frig and microwave. Only real downside was privacy. Only one bathroom, and one couple had

Your review may leave the impression that there is only one bathroom for the Isaac Wing House. All units have their own full bath. You apparently stayed in The Phoenix Suite where there is a private bedroom and the main room with two queen sized beds as well as kitchenette and living room. This is an Inn not a Condo and is priced accordingly. We are sorry this was a distressing aspect of an otherwise enjoyable visit. Jim Bryan

Hayfield is a very relaxing destination and the Isaac Wing House is beautiful! Clean room, friendly service. I plan to stay there again. The house is almost 150 years old but beautifully maintained. Similar to staying at a bed and breakfast. There are lots of nearby shops and

"This is right across the street from the Inn itself, and our suite had views of Lake Superior."
"All the rooms are unique and have a very homey feel. We have stayed in every one and find something different we enjoy about each one, whether it is the quiet privacy or the lake views."
"If researching on line, I suggest confirming amenities, such as whirlpool tubs, to be sure they really exist."
"The 2 bedroom suite-the Phoenix or the QE11 were great for our traveling group of 3 friends. Phoenix is upstairs-felt like a cozy attic room."
